FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Owl’s Hill will open to guests by 2:15. The ceremony begins at 3:00 PM.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Absolutely not :) Legit, we mean it. If you want an excuse to buy fancy clothes and be your fanciest self, awesome! be our guest! Similarly, if the thought of dressing up fills you with existential dread, then come in a sundress or nice jeans and a button down. We fully support you either way ❤️ We recommend wearing comfortable shoes given guests will walk on grass to get to the pavilion where the ceremony will be held. We’ll also have lawn games for anyone hanging out pre or post ceremony so keep that in mind!

Question

What’s Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary accessibility like?

Answer

The parking lot and the pavilion where the ceremony will take place are both paved. There’s a 50-ish ft sloped, grassy area between the parking lot and the pavilion. The restrooms are 2 port-a-potties that are located by the parking lot close to the Owl’s Hill main building/office, probably 300-ish feet away from the pavilion. If there is anything we can do to help with accessibility, please flag it for us via text or your RSVP.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! Owl’s Hill has a parking lot for the ceremony. If you’re from Nashville and can carpool, that would probably be best to avoid a fully packed parking lot, but there should be enough room for guests to bring their cars.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

If they’re your own kids, of course! If you’ve gone and found someone else’s kids to drag along, that’s weird? Please don’t?

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If not specified on the invitation, our sincerest apologies but no! The bride and groom are trying not to wear out their introverted selves on the big day. Also, the Owl’s Hill pavilion only comfortably fits so many individuals. If you believe there’s an error though and someone was left off the invite list by mistake, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Question

Do we have to buy the couple a wedding gift?

Answer

Material support not required. Your presence is more than enough. En lieu of gifts, please consider a donation to any of the following organizations: Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary (https://www.owlshill.org/) : They're hosting our wedding! Owl's Hill provides a protected home for the more than 2,000 species of local flora and fauna that thrive in the hills, forests, creek, ponds and meadows of our 300-acre nature sanctuary. Owls' Hill is a special place for visitors of all ages to explore the great outdoors, learn about native Tennessee wildlife and connect with nature. TIRRC (https://www.tnimmigrant.org/): Since their founding in 2003, the Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC) has grown from an informal network of community leaders into one of the most diverse and effective coalitions of its kind, a model for immigrant rights organizations in the Southeast and throughout the United States. Environmental Justice Foundation (https://ejfoundation.org/): EJF works internationally to inform policy and drive systemic, durable reforms to protect our environment and defend human rights. They investigate and expose abuses and support environmental defenders, Indigenous peoples, communities, and independent journalists on the frontlines of environmental injustice. Nature Conservancy (https://www.nature.org/en-us/): The Nature Conservancy is a global environmental nonprofit working to create a world where people and nature can thrive. Rainforest Alliance (https://www.rainforest-alliance.org/): They work in 62 countries to promote more sustainable land management practices while cultivating thriving rural economies—the most widely proven strategy to restore biodiversity and keep our tropical forests standing.

Question

I have a food allergy but want to go to the reception. Help!

Answer

We’ll do our best to accommodate allergies where possible. Please send us a note either directly to the bride/groom or on your RSVP so we can make note of it. Side-note: the bride is allergic to shellfish, so if that's your food allergy, no worries! It won't be on the menu.* *However, we can't control all cross-contamination possibilities since shellfish is on Boqueria's normal menu

Question

What happens if it rains?

Answer

🤷‍♀️ we dance in the rain, of course! The ceremony will be under a pavilion so we should be able to stay (mostly) dry.

For all the days along the way
