How We Met

A chance encounter that turned into forever

Megan and I have suspected that our mutual friend who introduced us may have been playing Cupid. It's funny because I wasn't even a little bit on the market at the time; I just had no desire to meet anyone, but then I met Megan and everything changed. I never used to believe in the notion of 'love at first sight' but yes, I think that's what it was. How to articulate it? It wasn't like some sort of automatic soul recognition; it was more like I saw Megan, and I felt my world shift but didn't yet know why. I just knew that I experienced something strong and new to me when I saw her for the first time. Even now, I can still vividly recall the visceral reaction that was the result of turning the corner in our friend’s basement and seeing Megan standing there. She was fresh out of the shower with wet, curly hair and adorned in clothes borrowed from our friend. At that moment, something inside me clicked—something I couldn’t yet fully understand, but my brain seemed to know. It’s funny how the brain works. Emotions shape our memories as we're storing them, you know. Even before I could process it consciously, my mind was already storing that moment, almost like it understood the weight of what was happening. It’s like the neurons in my brain, awash in the rush of new feelings, knew that moment would matter forever, and they recorded it in high definition—like they were marking the start of something life-changing.

Our Proposal Story

1/21/24

January 21st, 2024, will always hold a special place in my heart: it was the day that Megan asked me to marry her. It was a complete surprise and one of the happiest moments of my life. Megan handed me a letter, and as I started reading, I realized what was happening. The words she wrote were beautiful and heartfelt. While I was reading, she got down on one knee. I was so flustered and caught off guard that all I could say was, "I don't know what to say." She just laughed and said, "Say yes." And so I did, without a second of hesitation. I truly appreciated the intimacy of that moment. It was just the two of us, and that made it all the more special. The letter she proposed with has become one of my most treasured possessions. I’ve since framed it, and it now hangs proudly on the gallery wall in our bedroom. It’s a tangible reminder of that day, the love we share, and the journey we’re on together.

Why is June 14th Considered a “Lucky Wedding Date”?

A lucky date, a love to celebrate: June 14th

June 14th is considered a lucky wedding date for several reasons, rooted in both tradition and symbolism: 1. Connection to June, the Month of Juno - The month of June is named after Juno, the Roman goddess of marriage and childbirth. Many believe that marrying in June brings blessings of prosperity, happiness, and strong unions. - Historically, June was also favored for weddings due to pleasant weather and practical reasons, such as better travel conditions for guests. 2. Mid-Year Significance - June 14th falls almost exactly in the middle of the calendar year, symbolizing balance and harmony, key elements of a successful marriage. - It’s seen as a time of growth and warmth, aligning with the ideas of love and connection flourishing. 3. Numerological Balance - In numerology, the date 6/14/2025 breaks down as: - 6 (June): Often associated with love, family, and harmony. - 14: A number of adaptability, partnership, and responsibility. - 2025: Adds up to 9, symbolizing completeness and fulfillment. - Together, these numbers reflect a strong foundation for marriage. 4. Historical and Seasonal Charm - June is part of the wedding season, making it a popular time for ceremonies due to its romantic ambiance and blooming natural beauty. - June 14th is early enough in the season to enjoy prime weather without the high summer heat found later in the month in many places. June 14th also happens to be the day after our anniversary (we started dating June 13th, 2021). While traditions and superstitions add to the charm, any date can be "lucky" if it holds meaning to the couple.
