Our ceremony starts at 3:30 sharp! Any late arrivals will be stopped at the driveway on the top of the hill of Overlook Barn’s property. This is a policy by the venue. You may watch the ceremony from outside of your car and then join us for cocktail hour afterwards!
October 18th-20th is Woolly Worm Festival Weekend. This is a very busy weekend for the town of Banner Elk. Please prepare for heavy traffic on and off the mountain. This means the day of the wedding as well! In previous years, it has taken guests an hour and a half to drive through festival traffic so keep that in mind!
Yes! Our registry can be accessed in the "Registry" section of our website. The biggest gift is your presence!
We have opted for an unplugged ceremony! What does that mean? In short, that means we would like you to put your phones away and just enjoy the moment with us. Our photographer Cynthia has worked so hard and will be working super hard to get the best photos she can of every moment of our ceremony and we want to make sure we don’t have any pesky phones in the way! If you will, please put your phone in your purse, pocket, whatever you have with you and make sure it’s on silent and just enjoy the moment with us!
We need an RSVP for your entire party listed on your invitation no later than September 7, 2025. After this date we will be sending final counts to our vendors and RSVPs submitted after this date will unfortunately not be accounted for.
Yes! We ask that you please wear Formal attire. Take this as an opportunity to show up and show out! For guests planning to dress feminine, this could be a floor length or tea-length dress, dressy jumpsuit, or cocktail dress. For guests planning to dress masculine, a suit with a tie, or a dress shirt with dress pants and a dinner jacket is also appropriate. To stay within our fall-inspired color scheme, please refrain from wearing any bright/bold colors such as hot pink, bright red, and neons as well as bold patterns. Out of respect for the bride, please also steer away from white, off-white, or champagne clothing. Please no jeans!
No, but it is strongly encouraged that you know a few songs as the bride is a huge Swiftie (Taylor Swift fan) herself so there will be quite a few songs played at the reception. Dancing is strongly encouraged and appreciated!
