Sara and Megan met on September 4th, 2016 at a tattoo shop. Sara and her friend Eric had decided to get matching tattoos and "yelped" for a reputable tattoo shop in the area. They walked into Newport Tattoo and there was Megan! What started as a random, walk-in tattoo appointment quickly turned into friendship and even more quickly turned into true love. After years of living together, traveling/ adventuring together, and growing their cat collection from 1 to 3, Megan and Sara decided to make this relationship "government official". They spontaneously decided to get married on October 30th, 2020 in Las Vegas in a pink, vintage Cadillac. . . because what else kind of gay wedding do you have in 2020? But now, they are so excited to be having a personalized ceremony and to be celebrating their love with family and friends in the beautiful, sacred, California desert.
Megan's proposal to Sara: On the morning of June 28th, 2019, Megan, Sara, and their friend / coworker Reid were getting ready to attend the San Diego Tattoo Invitational. They were on their way to get breakfast when Megan developed a "sudden anxiety" for the tattoo filled weekend ahead and Reid suggested a walk along the water at Sunset Cliffs. Sara embraced Megan for comfort and was shocked when she dropped to one knee and asked her to marry her! Of course the answer was yes and Reid was standing by to snap some candid polaroids. Sara's proposal to Megan: There was much debate about their married last name. While Sara stood firmly in keeping Lewandowski, Megan advocated for the new name of Rose (currently Megan's middle name). Sara decided to surprise Megan by getting a rose tattoo on her palm and once at home, Sara returned the proposal by presenting Megan with a picture frame engraved with "Megan and Sara Rose" and revealing that the true meaning of the tattoo was to honor their new last name - Rose.
