Elopement

The Wedding Website of Megan Karaus and Ross Carter
Question

Keeping it small.

Answer

When starting to plan our wedding, a big party never felt like us. We have decided to have a private ceremony with our immediate family and bridal party. The elopement will be quick and intimate, giving us ample time to enjoy our honeymoon and start our new adventure as husband and wife as soon as possible.

Question

Choosing Ireland.

Answer

When choosing a place to elope, we wanted somewhere that embodied all the things that we love as a couple. This includes history, fantasy, nature and the flare for the dramatic. Ireland checked all of those boxes and also is part of our heritage. Irish wedding traditions will be part of our ceremony, including hand-fasting, make-up bells and ring warming.

Question

Getting Involved.

Answer

Although we can’t have all of our friends and family at our wedding, we will keep you in our hearts on the day. Your support throughout our lives is invaluable and we have come up with a way to feel as though you are with us on our day. You will receive a gold ribbon in the mail. We ask that you write notes of love or advice on that ribbon and send it back to us. Those ribbons will be carried to Ireland and tied on our wedding “make-up” bells to ring as we say our vows. Going forward in our marriage, these ribbons and bells will serve as a reminder of our devotion to each other. *If you have not receive a ribbon in the mail by August 1st, please let us know so we can make sure another one gets mailed to you ASAP!
