Our Story

They say that love happens when you least expect it. It comes out of nowhere. No warning, no sign whatsoever. You don’t go looking for love… it actually finds you. This couldn’t be closer to the truth when it comes to Lauren and Megan’s relationship. It was luck that the two met. Okay… in reality, it was online dating, but there’s more to the story than that. Their first date took place in the summer of 2018 at Mayslack’s in Northeast Minneapolis. The two connected on playing hockey, working in the service industry and not living “normal” lives. The beginning of their relationship, they had their hesitations like any couple, mainly due to their age difference and Lauren’s addiction to hunting. Despite putting up all the walls in the world, they came crashing down just as fast as they each had built them up in the first place. Unknowingly standing in a pile of dog poop, Lauren expressed her feelings and Megan finally caved into her. Their first few years of dating, they experienced many life changes and quickly realized that whatever life threw at them, they had a resilient relationship that would last a lifetime. Thanks to their partnership, the couple grew as the individuals they aspired to be as well. Homeowners, finally having weekends off, with their own dog. Everything started to fall into place and it was time to take their relationship one step further. After moving into their first home in 2022 and nervous as ever, Megan got down on one knee thanks to the persistent help of her friends. Their new, four-legged addition to their family became their focus for quite some time but Lauren finally returned the gesture many months later. With the beautiful landscape of Lake Superior, Lauren got down on one knee (again) to ask Megan if she would share another beer with her. However, this time when she proposed, the Busch light can morphed into a container holding Megan’s ring. After three years of engagement, filled with many house projects, ski trips, and endless days of picturing what their family will look like, the two are excited to take on any challenge together. As we step into this new chapter, a sincere thank you to all the amazing people who have been part of this journey - we can’t wait to celebrate this special moment with you!
