Two areas we recommend are: Downtown Tamarindo and Playa Langosta Downtown Tamarindo has lively restaurants, bars, and shops all within walking distance. Perfect for those who love nightlife, surfing and easy access to activities. There are several options provided on the "Travel" page of this site. Playa Langosta is a 5 min drive or 20 min walk from Downtown Tamarindo. Ideal for those looking to relax and unwind while staying close enough to Downtown Tamarindo's buzz. Enjoy serene beaches, luxury accommodations and a tranquil setting surrounded by nature. We will be staying and the wedding will be in Playa Langosta.
We are arriving in Costa Rica on February 10 and planning to depart Tamarindo on February 15. We would love if everyone could be there with us for the entire time, but understand that work, kids, and other obligations may not allow that, so we will be thrilled to see you and spend time with you for as many days as you can make it!
Due to limited space at the venue, we ask that you refrain from bringing a date unless one is indicated on your invite.
We will be providing transportation for all guests staying off-site to and from the villa on wedding day. Pick up times will be provided for guests once we get closer to the date and we know where everyone is staying. For all other events, Tamarindo area has great and abundant taxi services. We recommend asking your hotel concierge or Airbnb host for a taxi service phone number to have on hand during your stay. UBER is available but still illegal in Costa Rica.
Yes, USD is accepted country wide. If you pay in USD, you will receive colones as the change. Please Note – any bills that are torn, old looking or have writing on them will not be accepted at 99% of establishments because local banks do not accept them.
No, Costa Rica uses 110v, just the same as back home!
AMEX is still not widely accepted in Costa Rica. It is best to have a Visa or Mastercard as a backup.
Calling all ladies! Do not wear stiletto heels. There are a bunch of grassy/dirt areas that you might have to walk in so wear wedge heels or sandals. For men we recommend loafers or boat shoes!
Yes, the water in Costa Rica is generally considered safe to drink. If you have a very sensitive system, or are concerned that something could disagree with you, you can play it safe with bottled water.
Be sure to note any allergies or food intolerances when you RSVP!
You'll hear Pura Vida (poo-rah vee-duh) a lot. More than just “pure life” in its literal English translation, it's the quintessential Costa Rican phrase. It's a lifestyle, a feeling, a perspective, encapsulating how Costa Ricans cherish life's simplest pleasures and find joy in the little things.
