As much as we love your little ones, our wedding events are adults-only so everyone is able to relax and enjoy their time. We hope you take this as an opportunity to let loose and celebrate with us!
We are looking forward to celebrating this day with our closest family and friends. We will be unable to accommodate any additional guests that are not already indicated on your invitation.
We recommend flying into Denver International (DEN) or Colorado Springs (COS) and renting a car. Buena Vista is a 2.5-hour drive from DEN and a 2-hour drive from COS. We understand that it's a bit of a trek but hope it will be worthwhile. Please reach out to Megan or Jamey if you are interested in carpooling with other guests.
In August, Buena Vista is typically warm during the day (average highs around 79°F) and cool in the evenings (average lows around 47°F). Weather can change quickly in the mountains, and isolated afternoon showers are common, so layers are strongly recommended. At an elevation of 7,960 feet, the climate is very dry and the UV index is often high—sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen) is especially important. The hotel also has a saltwater spa, so you may want to bring a bathing suit.
No, the ceremony and reception are at the Surf Hotel, as is breakfast on Sunday. The Welcome Dinner on Friday is a 15 minute walk from the hotel.
The hotel has free parking as does the surrounding neighborhood.
Please arrive to the ceremony at 4:15. The ceremony will commence promptly at 4:30.
Our room block at the Surf Hotel should be able to accommodate most guests. There are other lodging options in the Buena Vista area such as Airbnbs, campsites, and other hotels. Please note that ride-share Apps like Uber aren’t available, and transportation will not be provided.
The Welcome Dinner (Friday) and breakfast on Sunday will be casual. For the wedding on Saturday, please dress in formal attire—tuxes, dark suits, and midi- to floor-length dresses are welcome.
