Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Beach Semi-Formal or Dressy Beach Casual....shoes are optional for the wedding as we will be on the beach for the ceremony! Beach Semi-Formal or Cocktail For women, a dress, suit, formal romper, or jumpsuit all work for a semi-formal or cocktail affair. Feel free to include prints, avoiding anything too loud or any style that might clash with the venue. If you choose to wear a beachy dress, specifically, consider it in either tea-length or maxi to avoid looking too casual. For men, while a jacket isn’t required, a breathable sport coat or unique blazer is a fun addition. Feel free to include prints, avoiding anything too loud as well. Again, shorts and sandals are not permitted. Beach Casual Women should opt for a simple sundress, breezy maxi dress, or high-quality romper. Nice, short-sleeved shirts, such as polos, are permitted for men, as well as nice shorts (think Chinos) with a belt. In general, stick with lighter colors and/or bold prints, and absolutely avoid denim, cargo, swim shorts, and cotton T-shirts. There is no theme or color requirements. We will be on the beach so use that as your guide. We just want you all to feel WONDERFUL in whatever you wear!

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

TRS Coral is an all-inclusive resort, however many of the “basics” are extremely expensive to purchase there. We strongly suggest packing the following items, just in case: • Sunblock • Sunglasses • Hat/Sun hat • Bug spray • Tylenol/Advil • Pepto/Imodium • Antacids • Bandaids • Chapstick • Cash for tips (suggestion of $100/person, mostly $1 bills) • Bathing suit cover ups (most restaurants require a cover to enter) • Long pants and dress shirt for men (ala carte restaurants require this) • Dresses or dress pants for women (ala carte restaurants require this) • Dress sandals/regular shoes (ala carte restaurants do not allow flip flops or slides) • Sweater (for cooler evenings or if you get chilled easily) • Water shoes

Question

Other Packing Information

Answer

Bring whatever you want but here are our general suggestions: during the day, most people are in bathing suits and cover ups/shirts and shorts. These are appropriate for breakfast & lunch restaurant wear. Don't forget to check out our suggested packing list of items. Rooms are equipped with hairdryers & basic toiletries. Outlets are US plugs so you do not need a converter for your phone charger, etc.

Question

How does airport transportation work?

Answer

Because you are traveling as a Palladium Travel Club member, private transportation is provided to you at no extra cost. That transportation is provided by a company called BD Experience. Check out the "All the Details" page for images of their booth and sign. If you have never been to the Cancun airport before, it can be WILD. Please note that the pick up at the airport is outside. People will try to stop you before you get outside the airport offering transfer/time shares/etc. and some make it seem like they are the company that you hired, but unless they have your name on their clipboard, keep on walking. There will also be a lot of people offering to help you find where you are going, move your bags, etc. They are hoping for tips, which is fine if you need help, but know that the walk from baggage claim to your shuttle is not far.

Question

How does hotel arrival work?

Answer

If you arrive at the resort before 5pm you will be taken to the Travel Club Members Lobby for check in. We should be there to help assist with any questions or concerns, plus we are arriving a day early so I can ensure everyone’s rooms are correct. If you arrive at the resort after 5pm you will check in at the regular TRS Lobby. Again, we should be there to help with check-in. A bellhop will take your bags to your room for you (a couple dollar tip is appreciated, but not mandatory). You may also meet your butler who is available to help with things you need. They will ask to connect with you via WhatsApp and you'll be able to communicate with them that way. Their desk will be located at the end of the hall in your building. They will help you make dinner reservations for your stay when you arrive. Please think of them more like concierge and not actual butlers. We suggest grabbing a bite to eat at one of the buffet restaurants as you likely will not be able to get a reservation for one of the ala carte restaurants that first night. However, be sure to set those up with your butler as soon as possible to secure your preferred times and restaurants.

Question

The Palladium App

Answer

Search your App Store for "Grand Palladium Hotels & Resorts" app. Once you've downloaded, make sure you find the Costa Mujeres resorts (TRS Coral/ GP Costa Mujeres/Family Selection). Here you'll be able to see a map of the full resort, a list of restaurants and menus, the schedule for resort activities, and plenty of other information. When you arrive at the resort, you can log into the app using your name and room number.

Question

Group Communication

Answer

We're going to create a WhatsApp group chat for everyone to make communication simple. We will have the link in your welcome paperwork. WhatApp is also used by the butlers and Palladium Travel Club for communication so I strongly suggest downloading it if you don't already have it.

Question

Meals

Answer

In general, all food and beverages, including room service, are included throughout your stay. There are a few "up-charges" for special items (like nicer bottles of wine or adding lobster tail to your room service order) but there are plenty of options without the extras. At TRS, all restaurants on the property are included and you can make reservations for dinners with your butler when you arrive. Not all restaurants are open every day so be sure to ask your butler or check the app for those details.

Question

Tipping & Other Money Stuff

Answer

Tipping isn't required but it is appreciated by the workers at the resort and does tend to ensure better and more prompt service. We bring about $100USD in $1 bills per person for a week. Remember that the USD goes a long way here so tipping $1-2 is perfect for most things. We do tend to tip our maids and butler $20-40 for the week, but again, this is all personal preference and is NOT REQUIRED! There are ATMs at the hotel for USD and Pesos. If you use a Peso ATM, there is a trick to them. It will ask you if you accept the rate, that question means do you accept this bank's exchange rate. Answer NO / DECLINE. You will get the better current market exchange rate.
