It all started in the most unexpected of places - O’Charley’s in Carrollton, GA (RIP, and shoutout to the new BWW, hope you’re thriving). That’s where Dylan and Megan’s paths first crossed, unknowingly setting the stage for something much bigger. At the time, they were just two fun-loving people running in the same social circles, making memories with the legendary OC crew. From post-shift hangs to holiday parties on the lake, their friendship was built on laughter, good company, and countless unforgettable moments. When Megan transferred from UWG to UGA, Dylan was right there to celebrate the milestone - so much so that he even tagged along on a trip to Athens to make sure she was settling in just fine. But after that, their lives took them in different directions. Dylan dove into his studies in speech pathology and German, eventually traveling to Oldenburg, Germany, to deepen his love for the language and culture. Meanwhile, Megan pursued her passion for music therapy at UGA. Once she graduated, she moved back home to Carrollton, ready to figure out her next chapter. Megan began teaching swim lessons at Club Fitness, where Dylan would occasionally see her while mid-squat at the gym (but let’s be honest, that’s not where the magic happened). The real spark reignited one night at Printer’s Ale. On one of Dylan’s rare nights off, they found themselves catching up over a fire and a cold beer, reminiscing on years past. As they swapped stories, one thing became clear - they still shared the same love for music. The next day, Megan was so giddy from their reunion that she couldn’t resist texting Dylan to suggest a jam session. He was all in. Soon, it became a routine: Megan would wrap up swim lessons and head across the street to South Ridge (shoutout to the South Ridge fam!!!) to jam out a little and socialize a lot. Then came New Year’s Eve 2020. As the clock struck midnight, Dylan finally sealed the deal with a kiss, and they dove into 2021 together - never looking back. Since then, they’ve taken on life hand in hand, navigating their first post-college jobs, moving to Alpharetta, and taking a leap of faith on each other. Through every twist and turn, they found strength in facing life together. The biggest leap yet? Moving to Charleston, SC! Dylan’s passion for environmental and sustainable science (callback to that German culture!) led him to pursue his master’s degree, and Megan was all in for the adventure. And as they settled into their new city, one thing became clearer than ever: this was forever. In June 2024, after celebrating the wedding of Megan’s cousins (shoutout to Luke and Carianne!), Dylan and Megan spent the day exploring Washington, D.C. From museums to historic landmarks, the city felt alive with possibility. Then, in the serene beauty of the Smithsonian Gardens, Dylan led Megan to an intimate park bench. As she turned around, there he was - on one knee, holding a ring, ready to begin forever. With a resounding YES! they set off to celebrate, toasting with champagne and taking in the epic views of the city where their forever story officially began.
