Colin and Megan first met in June of 2020, navigating the challenges of returning to college life amid the pandemic. A mutual friend introduced them during a small group gathering, which led to many more hangouts and, eventually, their first date. That date turned into several more, and after a couple of months of getting to know each other, Colin asked Megan to be his girlfriend. And so, their journey together began!

As Colin and Megan entered their senior year of undergrad at the University of Kentucky, Megan completed her final season of college gymnastics with Colin by her side. In turn, Megan had the privilege of watching Colin's debut season as the starting punter for the UK football team. Over the next couple of years, Megan pursued a Master's degree in sport psychology while working with UK Athletics, and Colin finished nursing school, pursed an additional degree, and continued to take his football career to new heights. Throughout this time, they grew together, learning more about themselves and each other. Eventually, they moved back up north to Pittsburgh, to begin the next chapter of their lives and careers. Colin started coaching Division 1 football while also working as a nurse, and Megan began her work as a mental performance consultant in private practice, while also working with young gymnasts. The two continue to grow in their careers, in their relationship, and are excited for what is ahead together!

Colin and Megan's engagement felt like something straight out of a Hallmark movie. Megan couldn't have dreamed of anything better—Colin truly nailed it! As Christmas 2024 approached, Megan and Colin had purchased tickets for Megan to take her mom to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra Christmas concert in Pittsburgh for a girls' night. As the night grew closer, Megan’s mom, Karen, suggested a restaurant in North Park, overlooking the lake, for dinner before the concert. Megan thought it was a bit odd for winter, but she was happy to give her mom exactly what she wanted for the evening since it was her gift. So, Karen picked Megan up, and they drove to the lake, unaware of what was in store. Little did Megan know, Colin would be waiting for her by the water when they arrived. It was a beautiful, snowy day in Pittsburgh, and as Colin asked Megan to marry him, the snow began to fall at the perfect moment. Colin's brother Eric was there to capture the magical moment on camera. After celebrating as a couple, a few more surprises awaited Megan. Colin told her they were going to celebrate with both sets of parents at dinner. But when they arrived at Megan's parents' house, the entire Monfredi and Goodfellow families were there to celebrate. To Megan's delight, her best friends—Sydney, Madison, and Elyssa—had traveled in for the surprise celebration. Later that night, more friends—Ethan, Elliott, and Madelyn—joined the party as well! Colin had truly gone above and beyond to make the day unforgettable. Now, they can’t wait to continue celebrating throughout the year and into their wedding!
