Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR)

Direct flights from California are easy to come by if booked in advance. It is approximately a three hour flight from San Francisco to Puerto Vallarta International Airport. It is a small airport and easy to get around. There is only one entrance servicing both arrivals and departures. Directly outside, at the main entrance there is a ticket counter where you can buy "tickets" for taxis to Sayulita at a set price. Prices vary dependent upon car or van size. It is typically around $70 USD for a large van.

COVID-19 Testing

Currently Mexico DOES NOT require a negative COVID-19 test for entry although a symptom questionairre is completed upon landing; this is done online and accessed through a QR code provided in customs. The US REQUIRES a Negative COVID-19 for entry. We recommend doing this at the airport - same day - prior to departure. A PCR test is NOT required; an Antigen Test is sufficient; the test is faster and the cost is considerably less at 600 pesos or approximately $20 USD; the test must be completed prior to check-in and can take up to 1.5hrs; this includes registration and result time, so arrive early! Results are emailed to travelers. They have streamlined the process and this is the least expensive approach. The wedding venue is a few miles out of town. Shuttle service will be provided, starting at 4pm; Amanecer Transportation prefers to pick guests up at their hotel or Airbnb; to achieve this we, have running list of where you are staying and your phone number. If you have not provided your accommodations, please get to it as soon as possible and forward your reservation to megjalvarez@yahoo.com. Please Download the application "WhatsApp" to your smartphone and register appropriately. This is the most common app to make calls and text messages in Mexico. The shuttle drivers have requested this information to communicate with guests regarding their pickup time. Following the ceremony, drivers will be available for anyone who forgot their dancing shoes! La Amanecer drivers will be returning each guest staying in Sayulita to their hotel or Airbnb following the reception.
