We first met at a Portland Rugby meeting and soon after on the rugby pitch as teammates. Our friendship sparked as being “Truly Teammates”. Post rugby matches we would crack a Truly (Hard Seltzer) together to celebrate our win. It became our gameday tradition. After our first fall season together, our friendship started to grow. During off-season we became work out buddies, constantly pushing each other and holding each other accountable. With every week that passed our friendship grew stronger as more stories, hopes for the future, fears and even embarrassing moments were shared. Soon we were inseparable, we trusted each other, embraced each others' weirdness and enjoyed every minute together. So, we pushed the friend boundary and stepped over the line to see where it would go – since then we have never looked back! Shortly after our first trip together – Allie & Megan returned as an official couple. Since that first sip of Truly on the pitch we have been able to enjoy each other’s company constantly (with Wellie by our sides). Through beach trips, workouts, rugby seasons, vacations (you know when we could still travel), a summer full of weddings and of course our epic road trip across country to move to California; our Adventures of Allie & Gaedje have been nothing short of amazing. We cannot wait to celebrate our next adventure and crack a Truly at our wedding with all of you! XOXO, Allie
I knew Allie was the one from the moment she agreed to be my girlfriend. After months of planning and plans getting moved around (thanks COVID), I wanted to make the day extra special - at a place we were able to enjoy together in California. I cordially invited Allie to a beach sunset picnic at one of our favorite secret beach spots to adventure to in Santa Barbara. Luckily, the weather was perfect and Allie looked gorgeous as always. I sent her for a walk down the beach giving me time to set up the picnic and the main event. When she walked back down the beach towards me and was within earshot I began playing one of our favorite songs for her, “Something ‘bout you” by Sir Roosevelt, By this time I am certain she knew something was up. When she was just a few steps away, I got down on one knee and I asked the absolute prettiest and my very best friend to marry me! Of course, as you know - she said yes! XOXO, Megan
