The lake and surrounding areas are gorgeous this time of year. Sea Me Paddle provides kayak rentals and tours around Wild Horse Island.
We love Quinn’s hot springs! If you book early enough, you can stay on the property in their hotel or in one of their cabins. You can also just reserve a time to use the pools if you don’t stay overnight. There is a nice restaurant on the property, as well as a tavern. Highly recommend. Book early as this place is popular.
This hot spring is located near the north entrance to Yellowstone. You can book a stay on the property or just show up to swim. Book your stay early!
Late September/early October is an awesome time to go to Yellowstone. The elk are bugling at this time and the park is way less crowded than in the summer. An activity we enjoy is wolf spotting. You can rent a scope and watch for wolves and bears in the Lamar valley. It’s a fun experience. Plus, we love Yellowstone because it is the site of our engagement!
Great beers and an awesome outdoor patio. This place holds a special place in our hearts as this is the site of our first date. Montana is full of great breweries. If you need suggestions, just ask. We are happy to share our favorites!
Whitefish is a resort town outside Glacier NP. It’s worth taking a look around downtown and exploring their shopping and dining options.
We love our breweries! This one is near the Glacier airport and on the way up to Glacier National Park.
If you want to get a good look at the Missoula valley, climbing Mount Sentinel is the way to go. Visitors can park behind the stadium and climb the trail up to the M. It’s about three quarters of a mile up. People looking for a more strenuous workout can climb up beyond the M to the top of Mount sentinel.
One of many hikes in Missoula. There are a ton of places in the surrounding area to hike. If you download the AllTrails app, you can scout out one that suits your hiking style. We are happy to suggest some of our favorites in western Montana. Just remember, there are bears in the area, even in places within city limits. Hiking with bear spray is advised in most places.
