Cliff Walk
Get out and enjoy the sea breeze Saturday before the festivities with a 3.5-mile scenic walk along the ocean shoreline, which offers breathtaking views of the water and glimpses of the historic mansions. You can make it as long or short as you'd like, and keep in mind the path is a mix of paved and rocky sections.
Ocean Drive
If walking isn't your thing, check out the scenic 10-mile coastal drive showcasing Newport's stunning coastline, grand mansions, and natural beauty. Stop by Brenton Point Park along the way to sit by the ocean and watch the activity on the water or some kites fly.
Newport Mansions & Gardens
Make it a mansion-filled weekend! The Newport Mansions are grand summer homes built by wealthy families during the Gilded Age. Visit and tour the grounds of a few notable examples like The Breakers, Marble House, The Elms, or Rosecliff.
Newport Breweries & Wineries
Newport has many local vineyards and craft breweries if you are looking to start the party a little earlier. Newport Vineyards and Taproot Brewing are just minutes down the road from The Pell, but there are many others to choose from!
Newport Harbor Tours & Boating
There are numerous boat or sailing cruises that depart from Newport Harbor if you are looking to get out on the water! There are many options, so look around for what options might best fit your needs.
International Tennis Hall of Fame
If you love or enjoy tennis plan a visit to the Tennis Hall of Fame! The complex includes gorgeous grounds, a museum, a pro-shop, and dozens of indoor and outdoor courts where you might catch a game or two.
Newport Beaches
If you would like to feel the sand between your toes or catch some sun, check out one of Newport's many popular beaches. The largest and most popular are Easton Beach (First Beach) or Second Beach. Please note, they do charge for parking.
Fort Adams State Park
If you are looking for some history, visit this early 19th Century fort which, at the time of its construction, was the largest of its kind in the United States. The fort sits at the top of the harbor and provides stunning views of the bay.
