Bride
"I'm so excited to be able to marry my best friend, surrounded by the people who love us most! I hope everyone has the best time celebrating! Also looking forward to one day owning a void cat and golden retriever, who I hope will be friends."
Groom
"I can't wait to marry the love of my life. I will also support her desires to have a black cat and golden retriever who will inevitably want more attention from me than her. I have no doubts that this'll be a night to remember!"
Officiant
“The first time I met Meg, she wouldn’t come out for ice cream with us because she had P-Chem homework to do. I don’t know if doing said homework for her so she could join us made us homies or if me being married to her best friend did, but we came to find that we’re definitely both cut from the same ADHD, anxiety-prone, wildly illogical cloth. Oh, and Chris is pretty cool, too. Except when he beats me in commander, then he’s very not cool.”
Matron of Honor
"Meg saved a stranger from homelessness our senior year of college. The stranger was me, and we bonded over our love of Spain, tacos, and crying at commercials. Despite living in the same city for only 1 year, we’ve been there for each other for everything since 2017. On double-date weekends over the past few years, we drink margs and talk about the future and the boys drink tea and talk about nerdy things. Be sure to listen to the matron of honor speech, when I’ll try to one-up the epic one Meg gave for me in 2021!!"
Best Woman
"Christopher and I have been longstanding siblings/opponents since the summer of 1996. As the “wise elder,” it is my great pleasure and honor to assist in wedding festivities. But in all seriousness, it is so amazing to see the appreciation, care, and joy in Christopher and Meg’s relationship. I’m so excited to watch them continue to grow and share life together!"
Bridesmaid
"Met May 13th, 1998. She’s the eldest, so she’s always had the “big sister” title, now I’m just here to make sure she doesn’t trip over her dress!"
Groomsman
"The first day of high school (fall 2010) Chris and I met in band class. We bonded not only over our love of playing our instruments but joking around, causing much laughter, sharing stories, and sometimes making trouble. During high school we made a few trips together to play music.....like our trip to Virginia Beach and our trip to NYC. And we pretty much laughed, or slept, the entire time! I can't wait to be part of this wedding!"
Bridesmaid
"Hi, I’m Alissa! Meg was my neighbor freshman year of college, and has been one of my favorite people ever since. I now live in DC with my husband and our dog, Nutmeg, and work as a data scientist which I love! So honored to be a part of this special day!"
Groomsman
"I met Chris early on in our time at IU, now over a decade ago. We spent hours together in his dorm room, and later on his house down the street, working on everything from excerpts and homework to party planning (and safety). Seeing him work so diligently and sincerely towards his goals is inspiring to watch and I'm honored to be part of this tremendous celebration. I can't wait to see where Chris and Meg end up together!"
Bridesmaid
"Megan and I have known each other practically since birth, and watching her grow from dolphin-obsessed little girl to an accomplished woman has been a true joy! I’m so excited to stand by her side as she and Chris celebrate their love. It’s an honor to be a part of the journey!"
Groomsman
"Chris and I have known each other for over 12 years, ever since high school music camp, where he introduced me to the mystical wonders of the bass trombone. I’m also convinced Chris holds the World Record for devouring the largest plate of curry rice. He’s been by my side through both the best and the toughest times, and I’m beyond excited to celebrate this special moment with Chris and Meg."
