Best Woman
When they first met, Nancy and Meg hated each other! Luckily, that was a long time ago — these two have known each other for almost their entire lives, and they’ve been like sisters for close to 20 years. Their moms met and were BFFs at summer camp, and sent Nancy and Meg to YMCA Camp Coniston together for 6 years. Over the years, they’ve been through everything together, from first heartbreaks to planning their weddings at (almost) the same time! Meg has known Nancy would be by her side as Best Woman long before she met Brandon. Ask Nancy what LYMI means to the two of them!
Best Man
Steve and Brandon's parents met at a yard sale when they were 1 year old. Steve lived around the corner from Brandon's house and they became fast friends. They went from preschool all the way through college together, even rooming together in their senior year. With a shared love of sports (if not necessarily the same team) and Seinfeld, Steve has been there for Brandon longer than he can even remember, including his wedding day.
Bride Squad
Steve is Meg’s big brother — he’s been making her (and the rest of the family) laugh since day one! Over the years, he’s protected her from a bully at the lake, given her the best advice before the family move to NH and her first day of middle school, and given her pointers on the best way to celebrate the end of college senior week. There’s no way Meg could get married without Steve there to provide brotherly wisdom, jokes, embarrassing stories, and support! Ask Steve to do his iconic impression of their dad’s laugh — a family favorite.
Best Man
Aaron and Brandon met in the second grade and became fast friends. Sharing countless sleepovers, late night gaming sessions and a love for Philadelphia sports, Aaron has been one of Brandon's closest friends. They're even responsible for introducing each other to one of each other's favorite things (Aaron introduced Brandon to theater, Brandon introduced Aaron to Philadelphia sports).
Bride Squad
Jonathan is the second brother Meg and Steve never had — technically their cousin, Jonnyboy is Meg’s big brother in all but name. He’s been there for her always, from taking her side when Steve and Meg were fighting, to trading dating advice, to answering lots of medical questions (Jon is a paramedic and firefighter in Manchester, NH). Meg, Steve, and Jon all grew up together in Francestown. Ask Jon to share his best dancing advice — Steve taught him a sweet move for homecoming.
Groom Squad
Lindsay is Brandon's younger sister, a future doctor, and the hardest worker Brandon's ever known. She may have cried the first time he held her as a baby, but things have improved a lot since then. Over numerous family vacations and life moments, Lindsay has always been there for Brandon, whether it's for a joke, as a teammate, or for free medical advice (which Brandon plans to keep using for the rest of their lives). They almost never fight, except for that one time Lindsay tried to eat his leftovers when he specifically told her not to...
Bride Squad
The Penn housing system automatically paired Kira and Meg together to share a Quad dorm room back in 2011, and it’s been true roomie love ever since! The two bonded over their freshman bunk bed, love of New England temperatures, nighttime Wawa runs for milkshakes and cheese, and nonstop memes and music. Kira even helped Meg pick her outfit for her first date with Brandon! After graduation, Kira moved to DC and recently graduated from law school in Virginia, so the two stay in touch with regular phone calls. Ask Kira what their section of the Penn Quad was called!
Groom Squad
Brett is Brandon's younger brother, a kind and caring person unless it involves Ohio State or the Dallas Cowboys. Brett and Brandon talk all the time about Philadelphia sports and still manage to love each other despite rooting for different college teams. Quick with a joke, Brandon can always rely on Brett for a laugh, but also a friend.
Bride Squad
One of Meg and Brandon’s mutual ride-or-dies, Dana has been part of our sunrise squad since the start of freshman year. Dana lived in DC and survived early morning communications classes with Meg, served on Front Row Theatre Board with Brandon, did shows with us, and has been there for every up, down, and party foul in between. Our fiercest activist and policy wonk, Dana moved to DC after graduation to save the internet. We're just glad we've kept them on the East Coast so far (we know we'll be visiting them in their hometown of Seattle someday soon)! Ask Dana for embarrassing stories about the bride and groom — they've got plenty to share about both of us!
Groom Squad
James and Brandon first met in Gifted and Talented class in 9th Grade, but really became friends through a shared acting class, the Eastern High School Drama Club, and Team Theater. Whether through late night line-studying, marathon video game sessions, numerous trips to the movies, or just talking about life, James has always been there for Brandon whenever he needed him.
Bride Squad
The sassiest member of our sunrise squad, Zach can be counted on to get the party started! Zach met both of us before we even knew each other during our first semesters at Penn and he has been there to support us, tease us, sass us, and distract us every day since. From theater parties and shows, to adventures on Philly SEPTA, to memorable (or not) spring breaks, we are truly (as he would say) #blessed to have Zach in our lives!
Groom Squad
Mike and Brandon have known each other for years but truly became friends through Aaron in high school. Now, they probably text each other every day over their shared love of Philly sports, Penn State football and Villanova basketball. Mike has provided some of the all-time quotes in Steve, Aaron, James and Brandon's friendship, including "Oh, it's bad," and "University of Delaware. That's in Delaware." (Ask Brandon for context)
Officiant
We couldn't think of anyone better to officiate our wedding than Alex — we're so honored to have him with us under the chuppah, following his role as host of our Zoom wedding and reception. Whether he's near or far, Alex has been there for us for every high and low over the last 9+ years, with wise advice, a listening ear, jokes and laughter, and the best stories. Also part of our Penn sunrise squad, Alex can be counted on to provide the most memorable quotes, the best shoulder massages of your life, and a killer cocktail. He also (casually) speaks several languages, has taken up swing dancing, and manages to always stay in touch, even when he lived time zones and half the world away in India. We'd be lost without him! And we remember him both as he was and as he is — ask him to explain.
