Question

How to Purchase Ferry Tickets to Hvar:

Answer

To book your ferry tickets, use the website ferryhopper.com Ferries leave every hour out of Split to Hvar, and the ferry ride is about an hour long. If you plan to travel along the coast of Croatia before or after our wedding, the ferry system is incredibly helpful! You can take the ferry up and down the coast to beautiful places like Korcula, Dubrovnik, Zadar, Krk, etc. for a very reasonable price. If you have any questions about traveling in Croatia, please reach out to Madison!

Question

Where to Stay in Hvar:

Answer

There are several hotel and resort options in Hvar. Here are some of our favorites: All of the hotels listed below are owned by Suncani Resorts ~ enjoy 15% off with code PROMO15 when you book directly on their website www.suncanihvar.com Adriana Hvar Spa Hotel Located in the harbor, directly in town. This hotel is beautiful! Adriana is known for its spa and has an indoor pool with an outdoor pool deck. Amfora Hvar Grand Beach Resort 10 minute walk from town along the stone beach path. They will meet you at your ferry and collect your baggage. This hotel is giant! Located directly on the beach, it also has a large resort-style pool. *note, smoking is allowed at this property, so some areas do smell! Palace Elisabeth A Hvar Heritage Hotel, Palace Elizabeth is breathtaking. Located near hotel Adriana in the harbor. This hotel is definitely the most expensive option. Riva Marina Hotel Located in the harbor, steps away from the ferry. Very nice, recently refurbished! Excellent, central location. *note, this hotel is located next to very busy bars. While you cannot hear anything from inside your room, the environment will be less tranquil than other hotels Beach Bay Hotel Located directly next to our wedding venue! This hotel is beautiful and quiet while still very central. Beach Bay Hotel is on the beach on the tip of the harbor. Airbnb By far the best way to save and enjoy more bang for your buck is to stay at one of the many apartments that are listed on Airbnb. I have stayed in Airbnbs across Croatia and have always had the best experiences. You can also find beautiful (and affordable!) villas in Hvar on Airbnb. Please note that you will want to stay near the harbor in historic Hvar. If you aren’t sure whether the Airbnb you’ve found is in a good location, please feel free to reach out to us with any questions!

Answer

As of 1 January 2023, the currency used in Croatia is the euro (EUR). Although they have adopted the euro, food, drinks and accommodations in Croatia are still very reasonable.

Question

Croatian Language & Culture:

Answer

While Croatia's national language is Croatian, English is widely spoken throughout the country. If this is your first time visiting Croatia, there is no need to stress! Croatians are very warm, friendly people who love to share their history and heritage with visitors. Madison has spent a considerable amount of time both studying and traveling in Croatia and can attest to the kindness of this amazing country!
