The Kohala Coast is home to many other wonderful hotels. Room blocks are not offered so please book how you wish. Hotels are listed in order of distance to the Fairmont Orchid: Mauna Lani, Auberge Collection (1.8 miles) Hilton Waikoloa Village (5.8 miles) Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, Autograph Collection (8.5 miles) Westin Hapuna Beach (8.7 miles) Four Seasons Hualalai (16.6 miles) Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort (18 miles) Volcano House is a very rustic hotel located inside Hawaii Volcanoes National Park overlooking the edge of the Kilauea Crater. Due to being 96 miles from the hotel, we don't recommend that you stay here over the wedding weekend but it might be a good option if you wish to spend part of your stay closer to the park.

Several multi-bedroom townhouse and condo rentals are available on airbnb or Vrbo at the neighboring Mauna Lani resort. For the accommodations that have full kitchens, Foodland is the closest grocery store and located in the neighborhood.

The closest airport to the Kohala Coast is KOA in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Rental Car

Renting a car is highly recommended as transportation can be expensive, uber/lyft are less common than other islands and after 10 PM, taxis raise their prices.

Hilo International Airport (ITO)
If you plan to explore the east coast of the island before or after the wedding, Hilo airport is an option but mainly serves as an inter-island flight airport with direct flights to Maui and Oahu.

For those coming from the DC area, United Airlines operates a nonstop flight IAD-HNL each Saturday if you're looking to explore Oahu before the wedding or if you prefer to get the long flight out of the way en route to another island!
