Question

Why Hawaii?

Answer

Hawaii holds a very special place in Jess's heart. In 2017 & 2018, she worked for Norwegian Cruise Line, exploring the Hawaiian Islands week after week. In 2024, Jess finally got to share her favorite place with her favorite person. The scenery, the slower pace, and island vibes quickly won Mark over, especially the rugged beauty of Oahu's North Shore. After sending many happy clients to vacation at the Fairmont Orchid, Jess was invited to stay at the resort in September 2025 and fell in love with everything about the property. As fate would have it, Jess & Mark got engaged 2 weeks later and it was a very easy decision to select the Fairmont Orchid as the backdrop of their wedding celebration.

Question

How do we book using the promo code at the Fairmont Orchid?

Answer

On the website for the Fairmont Orchid, please select your dates of travel and number of travelers. Click on Special Rates & Accessibility. Select the drop down for "Choose a Rate" and select Promo code. In the box, enter the code 2U8BHM. The 40% discount will be applied to the Flexible Rate code. A refundable deposit equal to 2 night stay is required to confirm your reservation.

Question

When do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

We kindly ask that you RSVP by February 24, 2027.

Question

Are there multiple events we should plan to attend?

Answer

Yes, besides the wedding ceremony and reception, we are hosting a welcome luau for all guests and it will take place the day before the wedding, on Friday April 23. If you plan to attend the luau, we recommend you arrive to the Big Island by Thursday, unless you're arriving from one of the other islands. While optional for everyone, we hope you'll join us to kick off the wedding weekend. We don't have anything scheduled for the day after the wedding. We plan to enjoy the resort Sunday. Guests staying at the Fairmont Orchid are welcome to join us around the pool or the beach. More information about the events can be found on the schedule page of this website.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We completely understand that many of you may be turning this trip into a family vacation, and we encourage that. Please note that all wedding events are adults-only and limited to those formally invited. If you plan to travel with children, we kindly ask that childcare be arranged with family members not attending the wedding or through a third-party service. Hawaii has strict childcare regulations, and the Fairmont Orchid does not offer a kids club or babysitting services.

Question

What is the dress code for the events?

Answer

All events (weather permitting) will take place outdoors. The welcome luau is resort casual. Aloha shirts are welcome! This event will take place on the beach so please consider appropriate footwear. The wedding ceremony and reception are beach semi-formal. We encourage comfortable, breathable fabrics suited for warm weather. Bright colors and patterns are welcome and encouraged! Please skip formal gowns, heavy suits, and anything too structured. Linen suits, lightweight dresses and dressy sandals or flats are great options. Please, no shorts.

Question

Is transportation to and from any events offered?

Answer

All events will take place at the Fairmont Orchid so any guests staying on property do not need to worry about transportation. Any guests staying off property will need to make their own way to and from events at the Fairmont Orchid. You will receive validation for complimentary self parking when attending any wedding related events.

Question

Can I bring a guest if I'm traveling alone?

Answer

Yes, any guest who is traveling solo is welcome to bring a plus one. You will see "& guest" on your invitation. Please include your guest’s name when you RSVP.
