Virgo and Derrick met while they both worked at a beach resort in Monterey. They became good friends in 2012 and have had many, many... adventures since. A soft spoken guy with a passion for the outdoors; Virgo and Derrick have gone fishing, boating, hiking, shooting, hunting and hunting* together. A true friend to Derrick, his presence at the wedding is sure to bring laughs and memories.
Lorena Villagómez

A friend of Nicole's for the past 8 years, first meeting in a counseling internship where Lorena was Nicole's boss. Many whiskey Wednesdays, dinners out, Netflix and Chill nights and countless adventures have kept things interesting over the years. Fast-forward to today, Nicole is the happy Godmother or "Nina Cole" to Lorena's almost 3 year old daughter, Alianna.
Carlos Orta

Derrick met Carlos through his girlfriend Lorena, one of Nicole's best friends. Carlos and Derrick hit it off immediately because they both have a boyish sense of humor and a spark for fun and imagination. Carlos and Derrick have golfed, drank beer, worked together at construction sites, drank shots, BBQ'd and drank some more. He will be a wonderful addition to the wedding and sure to bring a great sense of joviality.

Nicole's cousin on her mother's side who has been the life of Nicole's parties for years. A "must invite" request from friends and family alike. Julia is sure to bring the dance moves, infectious laugh and vibrant personality to the fun of the wedding festivities.

A friend of Derrick's since early high school days in Los Angeles, these two have shared antics and experiences that are both laughable and cringe-worthy. From getting kicked out (temporarily) from high school AP Statistics class for making the teacher giggle too much, to "enlightened" walks through Golden Gate Park in San Francisco or Westcliff in Santa Cruz; "Mikey" was a sure pick to share in Derrick & Nicole's special day.

A cousin on Nicole's Dad's side, Stacy has been a friend and a partner in crime since her and Nicole were little girls. From sleepovers to high school parties to 20-something type shenanigans, Stacy has been around for it all.
Chris Summers
Groomsman
Chris and Derrick have been friends since college days at CSUMB. They share a lot of the same interests - both took Japanese in high school and continued the language training into college and they've swapped cities. Whereas Chris grew up in the Watsonville area of California, and moved to Los Angeles after college, Derrick moved from L.A. where he grew up, to Watsonville to live with Nicole. Though Chris actually works in the film and TV industry now, Derrick and Chris were stars of their own "Japanese-language action films" before Chris made it big.

A cousin of Nicole's on her Dad's side, Liz has been a friend and a confidant to Nicole for years. Always up for a good time, a massage or a beach day, Liz is always right there, ready to be a part of what's going down!

These two were dorm mates and then housemates at CSUMB, actually deciding on the same major as well! Hard to believe they got anything done with as much alcohol as they consumed. Having lived with each other for the better part of 4 years, they know one another pretty well and have shared many memories during that time and since. Derrick was a Groomsman at Tyler's wedding and is the Godfather to Tyler's oldest son, Benjamin.
Mone't Daniels

A cousin of Derrick's on his Mother's side, Mone't is like a sister to the groom and has a very special place in Nicole's heart. Mone't is a fierce, cat-loving, kind-hearted woman who is a seasoned traveler with the Carr clan- not an easy feat for a newbie to the family!
Reggie Kumar

Derrick & Reggie met over a dozen years ago while working together at Kinkos in Monterey. Both did not care for the job and quit soon after to pursue careers in the hospitality sector but the friendship endured. Nearly 15 years later Derrick & Reggie have cemented a friendship that has seen joy & tragedy and everything in between. From nights out in San Jose to nights out in Miami, the two have shared experiences neither will likely repeat in their lifetimes. Reggie will make a great addition to the wedding party.

A friend of Nicole's since high school, Stefanie has added such fun and light to Nicole's life in the years since being reconnected. Stefanie's love for wine and a good time make her the perfect 'Sunday funday' friend to relax and hang out with. Be sure to check out her shoes on the wedding day... they are sure to be FABULOUS!
Dairon Hastings

Derrick's cousin from his mom's side, Dairon and Derrick grew up together in their younger years. Dairon was always at the house playing with Derrick & Adonis. When T.T. & Troy got a pool, we were there all the time. The five cousins - Rolanda, Dairon, Adonis, Monet & Derrick were inseparable and though we've all grown into adults with lives of our own, we will forever have those memories.
Adonis Pearson
Groomsman
Derrick's younger brother, and partner in crime growing up. From the day Adonis was born, he and Derrick were inseparable as kids. Doing things only brothers could do, Derrick would have had a lonely childhood had it not been for Adonis. From chiseling their names in the cement in the family garage to falling asleep pretending to be boat captains in our bunk beds - the one on the top bunk was the lookout for any dangerous things our ship bed could hit :-) Adonis has grown into a successful mechanic and makes his living in Texas while the bond forged between these will never be broken.
Darlene Hastings
Mother of the Groom
What could be said about the perfect woman that hasn't been said in birthday cards, mother's day cards, etc. She is a fierce woman with a go-getter attitude who loves her kids more than life itself. For a large part of her career, Darlene worked the graveyard shift so she could see her kids off to school and be present at parent-teacher functions and the like. When Derrick was 12, Darlene sacrificed A LOT to send Derrick to Australia for a month with a student exchange program to open his mind and expand his horizons. She fought tooth and nail to get Derrick & Adonis into better schools and into advanced classes. She is the best mom any boy could ask for and Derrick is so glad to call her his own.

The very best man a girl could ask for in a Dad. As an only child Nicole was very happy she didn't have to share her "Faja" with anyone else. From late night coffee dates to life lessons, each memory made is a cherished one.
Michele Bozzo
Mother of the Bride
Sass, love, wit and kindness are the best ways to describe Michele. As a Mom, she delivered the best childhood and family togetherness examples to Nicole. From family vacations to beach days in Capitola, Nicole grew up learning the importance of family and sticking together from her Mom. Go ahead, ask Michele if Nicole is going to move out of state with the rest of the millennials... go ahead, I dare you!

Fermin has been a close friend to Derrick and Nicole for several years; he is a man of deep faith and a guiding example of strength in partnership. From the beginning of their relationship, Fermin has offered Derrick and Nicole solid advice and conversation about marriage, togetherness and respecting each other through words and action. They are absolutely honored to have Fermin marry them and are looking forward to taking in the advice he will impart on them on the big day.
