It's Happening!!

Derrick and I met by chance on Tinder, yes, it's true! I was celebrating my Nana's birthday with family in Monterey, in late January 2016. Before bed I was up late scrolling Tinder swiping left and right when I came across Derrick who lived near Monterey. Seeing a handsome guy who had his shit together, I swiped right. See, had either of us not "swiped right" that weekend while I was in Monterey, we would have never met, as our distance parameters were set too close to home. Fate? I think so! Our first date was on February 6th 2016 in Monterey at Restaurant 1833. The Makers old fashions were our commonality and conversation flowed effortlessly for hours. Lots of travel, meeting families, concerts, sunsets, beach time and countless laughs have made our last 3+ years of being together the start to our perfect love story. On April 21st 2018, Derrick asked me to marry him at Nepenthe Restaurant in Big Sur, CA, overlooking the ocean at sunset. With both of our immediate families there to join in the big surprise and celebration, it was a night that we are sure to never forget. We can't wait for our wedding!
