Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal is preferred. Our color scheme involves the colors of summer such as pastel blue, lilac, peach, yellow, orange, and sage green. You are free to dress along to those colors but it is not required!

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If "+1 guest" is listed on your invite, you are encouraged to bring someone! If not, then please only bring those listed specifically on your invite.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

All children listed by name specifically on the invite are welcomed. If your child is starting to disrupt the ceremony, we kindly ask that you or someone you know takes them outside the chapel to ensure that the wedding party and guests are not distracted. Will you have hotel rooms for guests?

Answer

Yes! We will have blocks of rooms in various parts of Kansas City available at a discount for our out-of-town guests. Please see the "travel" section! If you need additional travel accomadations, PLEASE reach out to Miranda or Georic. We know it is a long drive for a lot of people and want to help get you here!

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and the reception take place in air-conditioned, indoor spaces! You are more than welcome to walk around the acres of botanical gardens, but keep in mind that it is June in Kansas, so dress accordingly!

When can I show up to the venue?

Answer

Guests get in free to the botanical gardens for that day, so you are more than welcome to arrive as early as you like and walk around the gardens. Just keep in mind that to get to the chapel, you have drive a different way through the gardens (please see "Travel" section) than if you were going to the visitor center (Grand Hall), so time things accordingly. Please do not enter Majorie Powell Allen Chapel more than 30 minutes early.
