Miranda and Georic both met while attending Kansas State University, with Miranda being from Salina, KS and Georic being from Mankato, MN. Through being in the same "Intro To Political Science" gen-ed class (very exciting, I know) and both of us being a member of the K-State Young Democrats organization, Georic decided one day to make the move and sent Miranda a message. It was from here we messaged every day, had a "study session" (not much studying occurred) at Radina's Coffeehouse, and eventually went on our first date at Tuttle Creek Campground, where we shared our life stories around a campfire while eating smores under the stars. The next couple of years consisted of late-night Texas Roadhouse take-out, months being long-distance, visits to Minnesota filled with hockey and icefishing, unforgettable trips overseas, and canoeing and hiking over 40 miles at the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Each adventure and challenge only solidified our love for one another.
After three years of dating, Georic and his family invited Miranda to travel with them on a trip that consisted of flying to Iceland, flying to Sweden, and taking a train to Berlin. While in Sweden, we stayed at a cute oceanside town called Kalmar. We ate some of the best steak we have ever had, and then Georic took Miranda on a walk by the boat docks at sunset. Nobody was around and it was the perfect night. After saying "yes", we both headed back to the hotel, where Georic's parents were sitting nonchalantly with a bottle of cold champagne and asked us how our walk was (they were in on it). After they heard the news, we popped the bubbly and celebrated! One year later, here we are in the midst of planning a wedding!
After Miranda graduated with her bachelors degree in Social Work and Georic with his Civil Engineering degree, the both of us decided to move up to Minneapolis, MN to further our careers and to be closer to Georic's family (plus we just love this state!). Georic works at WSP Consultants as a Traffic Engineering Consultant-in-Training, and Miranda works as an ongoing Child Protection Social Worker for Dakota County.
