Some time ago, Abbi was freezing to death in Boston, MA and decided it was time to move below the Mason-Dixon line. With the help of her good friend, Caroline, Charlotte was determined as the place to be... for both of them. The two girls packed up, grabbed their adorable dogs and set forth to the Queen City. Week 1: After moving (with the help of Paul, Sherry & Jean), the two girls went out for the night. A few friends from THE Ohio State University hosted a bachelor party and the girls were lucky enough to be considered "one of the guys" for some reason. That night Abbi met Nick, the guy from Pittsburgh. Month 1: the Charlotte Yoga Pants crew invited Abbi to all events/outings per the recommendation of one, Danny Iten (he made me write this). Month 2: Football team asked Abbi to play (thanks to Susie Iten thinking she did crossfit). Abbi was referring to Nick as a "child" whenever she could, while Nick was inviting Abbi to events, mocking her because she spent too much time with her dog (still do) and would talk about his boat, a lot. Month 3: Abbi broke down and did Sunday boat day, Nick took her out on their first date 2 days later. She swears he moved in that weekend (he will deny). Month 4: Abbi texted Nick while he was in Vegas and confirmed that they were dating. Weird. 2 years: Nick and the jeweler started talking about wedding rings after a mishap at a wedding for one of the groomsmen (Matt). 2.5 years: Abbi was convinced he was only proposing because he was forcing her to move to the Tundra (Chicago) and to ensure Abbi would actually move (fair). He bought the ring while sitting in the airport...never seeing it in person. Proposal: Abbi was so difficult that Nick forgot everything he rehearsed. He would not take the ring out of the box because he was afraid he would drop it in the lake. Nick planned the perfect weekend with friends and family to celebrate our next step together. Sunday Boat Day was the best choice Abbi ever made.
