To be honest, Rodney and I have always kind of known each other. Our dads go way back—his dad did business with mine at Vinton Equipment—so he was always one of those people I knew of, but didn’t really know. Meanwhile, Kyle Fischer would not let it go. Any chance he got, it was always, “Have you met Rodney?” Like Kyle was running his own personal matchmaking service. Well, one day Rodney finally asked me to go fishing. It had been a while, and I figured, “Why not? I’ll go for an hour or two and head home.” Yeah… that didn’t happen. One hour turned into 3 or 4 beers, a lot of laughs, and suddenly it was midnight—and I had to leave early the next morning for a work trip. Oops. 😄 But clearly, it worked. Fishing turned into hanging out, hanging out turned into dates, and before we knew it, two years had flown by. Then, on a long weekend trip to the Ozarks with family friends, Rodney decided to pop the big question. I said yes—obviously—and now here we are getting ready for the wedding! So I guess Kyle was right all along… have you met Rodney? 💍
