COVID-19 Travel Note

The requirements to enter Costa Rica are constantly changing right now. We'll be sure to post an update here as we get closer to the wedding and things are more clear.

Travel Note

Passport

You will need a valid passport to travel to Costa Rica. Please make sure your passport will be valid for 6 months after your departure date from Costa Rica. We encourage guests to start this process early, as wait times are currently longer than usual.

Flight

Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO)

San José (Juan Santamaría, SJO) is the closest international airport to Manuel Antonio. If possible, we recommend inbound flights arrive by 3pm so you won't miss out on our Welcome Drinks to kick off the fun! We suggest outbound flights depart after 12pm to allow for adequate travel time back to the SJO airport. Manuel Antonio is approximately a 2.5 hour drive from the airport. We will help coordinate private wedding group shuttle options and will update here with more information. Local flights are offered between San Jose and Quepos (the town bordering Manuel Antonio) as well if you'd prefer that over a drive. There are two airlines offering these short flights: Sansa Airlines and Costa Rica Green Airways.

Shuttle to Manuel Antonio

Once you have landed in San Jose, you can either take a beautiful scenic ride in a private shuttle with fellow wedding guests or a 20-minute puddle jumper flight to Quepos airport in Manuel Antonio. If you are planning to fly in on January 21 or fly out January 25, we will help arrange private shuttles to bring you to and from the airport based on your respective lodging accommodations (range from $20-$80 per person dependent on number of guests we're able to group together) If you would like to get right to the celebrating and opt for the 20-minute flight, check here for in-country flights https://costaricagreenair.com/en/ or www.flysansa.com (range from $80-$100 OW). Note flights for some smaller carriers will not open until closer to travel dates. Once your flight is confirmed, please submit the details via the "view" link to the google doc below so we can help coordinate shuttles.

Villa Punto de Vista

We've rented a beautiful 10-bedroom private villa in Manuel Antonio from January 21st – January 25th 2022. The villa is perched on a 2.5-acre private rainforest bluff overlooking the ocean, removed from any tourist bustle and is just a two-minute stroll to the beach. All wedding events will take place in various social areas throughout the villa. All villa rooms have been filled, but there are many other incredible places to stay within walking distance.

La Mariposa Hotel

Gorgeous mid-range hotel that is just 4 minutes to Villa Punto de Vista. The hotel stands at the highest point in Manuel Antonio and is best known for its award-winning 360-degree view overlooking the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and the Manuel Antonio National Park. This is a great location and is within walking distance of the local strip with shopping and several restaurants.

Shana By The Beach

Shana Hotel is one of the larger hotels in the area and located just 4 minutes from Villa Punto De Vista. It has a beautiful pool, on-site restaurant and a nature trail down to Biesanz Beach.

Another great mid-range option within 5 minutes of Villa Punto De Vista, Tulemar was rated the #1 Hotel in the World in the 2019 TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice Awards. They have their own beach, multiple pools, and a great restaurant.
