The closest major airport to Manuel Antonio is Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO). Please try to have your flights arrive by 3:00 PM on January 21st, 2022 as we are coordinating shuttles to bring guests from the airport to the Villa and surrounding hotels and villas.
We will have our wedding planner, Karen, help you coordinate how to get to and from the airport. We understand not everyone will be leaving arriving January 21st or departing and January 25th, so this will differ person to person. Please complete the transportation information spreadsheet found on the travel tab.
The three hotels we’ve suggested guests to stay in the surrounding area only minutes from the Villa are Shauna by the Beach, La Mariposa, and Tulemar Resort.

Yes, in all of Costa Rica you can drink the water out of the tap. If you don’t like the taste or would rather play it safe, you can buy bottled water.
US cash is accepted country-wide, but you'll get change back in colones (local currency). We recommend bringing $20 bills or smaller. Please check your bills carefully before bringing them as Costa Rica has a pretty strict policy on this. Most hotels, restaurants, and ATMs will accept Mastercard. VISA is accepted everywhere. AMX is still not widely accepted in Costa Rica.
No! Costa Rica operates with 110w, which is the same as North America. You can plug any normal electric-powered device (hair dryers, chargers, etc.) into a wall outlet in Costa Rica.
Yes and no. It is not customary for locals to tip, but as tourism continues to rise, so does the expectation for tips. We definitely recommend tipping if you receive excellent service, as you would here at home (but 10% is customary). For example: tour guides, private drivers, maids, restaurant servers, etc. Be sure to double check your bill as service fees may already be deducted.
If your cell phone carrier has a roaming agreement with Costa Rica, you can use your phone, but roaming charges will get expensive. You can purchase a pre-paid SIM card once you land at the airport.
