SO after months of back and forth- We have decided to move forward as planned with the wedding in Mexico! We have been doing copious amounts of research and taking every precaution necessary due to the current status of COVID. However, with that being said- we still want to go celebrate in Mexico! And as much as we want every single one of you to join us, we COMPLETELY understand if you cannot attend. NO HARD FEELINGS. We realize the risks involved and would never want anyone to worry about their health or safety, so if you feel uncomfortable- please do not feel bad that you cannot attend. A couple of things... *If you have already booked and no longer want to attend, please reach out to Wendy or whichever platform you have booked through. You MUST cancel prior to September 1st 2020 ! VERY IMPORTANT. From what we have found out you will either have to pay a cancellation fee, or you can get a credit for your flight to use by the end of 2021/2022 depending on the airline. *If you have not booked and still plan to attend- prices have dropped dramatically (awesome) so feel free to book whenever. IF BY CHANCE there are changes with COVID and we are not legally allowed to travel to Mexico- everyones trip will be fully refunded. *If you would like to attend but either do not have a passport or your passport is expired- PLEASE contact Lauren directly and she can walk you through the necessary steps to take. Check out this link for health & safety measures the resort is taking: https://info.amresorts.com/cleancomplete We also have found out they are only operating at 30% capacity for the remainder of the year (awesome) so there will be close to no one except us at the resort! There is also a facebook group of people who are there right now giving updates you can join! https://www.facebook.com/SecretsMaromaBeach/ We love you all and thanks for sticking with us. Whether you will be there with us in person or in spirit, we cannot wait to celebrate our marriage with you!
We met at Lauren's favorite restaurant, Cafe Maya, on her favorite day of the year, Cinco De Mayo. Hence a wedding in Mexico :) We were introduced by a mutual friend (Mikus) not thinking much of it at the time since Lauren was living in Boston for work. We hit it off right away and only two days later, Mike was drinking margaritas with her family and making memories at the house we now live in together with their two pups, Boo & Luna. We still drink margaritas there together :)
We vacationed in the Florida Keys with Laurens family as a "skipping Christmas" gift to one another. After searching around town all day for the perfect spot, Mike found the most beautiful beach restaurant with the perfect view of the sunset on the ocean. A couple minutes before the sun went down, he got down on one knee and asked Lauren to spend his life with him. Laurens family secretly spied on them the entire time :) We're SO EXCITED to celebrate this next chapter (and Halloween) with you! VIVA LA MEXICO!
