How long does it take to get a Chinese Visa?

Answer

Normally it takes 4 business days to process a visa application although some applications require longer processing time. You will be notified of the estimated collection date either on your pick-up slip or by phone later. You are advised to submit your visa application at least one month before your planned travel date to China.

Can I send my VISA application to any Chinese Consulate in the U.S.?

Answer

No, the People's Republic of China requires U.S. citizens to submit their VISA application to the Chinese Embassy or certain Chinese consulates according to your place of residence. Please be advised that sending your visa application or document(s) to the incorrect office may result in complications, delay in processing or even denial of application. Do I have to travel to my assigned Chinese Consulate in order to submit my VISA application?

Answer

No. For those who are not near the Chinese Embassy in Washington D.C., or the 5 Chinese Consulates in: (1) New York, (2) Chicago, (3) San Francisco, (4) Los Angeles, or (5) Houston, you will need to sign the visa form, prepare necessary supporting documents and have a friend or a visa service help submit your application.

The average high temperature is around the low to mid 60's where lows typically range in the low to mid 50's. However, like the southern U.S. a random cold snap is possible.

Can I take pictures?

We ask for guest to refrain from taking pictures during the Ceremony and Reception. We'd much rather you be present with us during this special time. The professional photos will be available to anybody interested.

What form of social media is allowed in China?

Answer

Due to China’s firewall, Facebook, Instagram, Google, WhatsApp, and YouTube are not allowed. We strongly suggest for everyone to download WeChat before heading to China. This will help guarantee everyone can stay in contact with one another. Also, it is best to use Baidu while in China for general web searches.
