Our Story 🧡
In spring 2022, Jake and Michelle signed up for a half-marathon in Moab, Utah — thanks to an invitation from their mutual friend, Liv.
Before race day, Michelle injured her back and considered canceling. But the morning they were set to depart, she decided to tag along and cheer from the sidelines.
She is so glad she did. (So is Jake.)
When they met, she was drawn to Jake’s warm eyes, his empathy and his sense of adventure. He was impressed by Michelle’s compassion and enthusiasm for life, and he felt like they’d known each other forever.
A month later, Jake asked Michelle out on a date. Without hesitation, she said yes. Three years later in the Sahara Desert, he asked her to marry him. This time, she shouted, “Yeah!” Their three cats, Lincoln, Voodoo and Shelby, are delighted.
Over the years, they have visited 20 states, 15 national parks and four countries. Their road trips, hikes, backpacking and camping adventures are impossible to count.
They’re just getting started.
