You can take the bus or a taxi to this area. Here you will find the start of a hike to Los Animas that both brides took on with their friend, Allyson Van Gorder. Pack 2-3 times as much water as you traditionally would need. Trust us on this. The hike takes 2-3 hrs round trip straight through or 4-6 hours with stops at the beaches along the way. Various beaches on the path are only reachable by hiking or water taxi.
We highly recommend taking a half to full day in Yelapa. We recommend traveling there from the Malecon in Romantic Zone. Either secure online (Trip Advisor/Viator) or haggle with the boat drivers. Typically a good time to be there is around 9-10am. You will find beach chairs/umbrellas for hire, as well as food and beverage stands. There is a waterfall hike there to check out as well. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g504234-d2432130-Reviews-Yelapa_Waterfalls-Yelapa_Costalegre.html
Visit the highly rated Botanical Gardens for a nice excursion for a couple of hours.
This is the go to spot for brunch! It also tends to get busy so go early if you can or an off time.
This is a PV staple - Their breakfast can't be missed!
Enjoy beachfront dining in the heart of Puerto Vallarta. Reservations recommend for large groups.
We've got a couple of favorite restaurants in Puerto Vallarta and Tuna Azul in Zona Romantica sits atop the list. The service is going to be fantastic, the food is super fresh, and drinks well made. We go for the tostadas and raw tuna, the best we've ever had. Just be sure to take CASH, they don't accept Credit or Debit cards. They have another location north that we have not made it to yet.
When we are in town, this is where you will frequently find us. Phenomental service, food, and drinks. Recommend coming early, it gets busy!
Hands down the most well known spot for tacos and more in PV. This is a must for Kristen, she loves their Al Pastor. They only have a small area of seating inside that spills out onto the sidewalk. This place always has a line, so recommend arriving early, it's worth the wait! Grab an ice cold water at the OXXO across the street. CASH ONLY
This is a great alternative to Panchos. Al Pastor!
Looking for some craft beer or an American style pizza and salads? Los Muertos has two great locations but we enjoy this one in particular for their second story patio.
