Tyler and Jordan have been best friends since the 1st grade at Sunrise Elementary. Next was Mattson Jr. High, Kentwood High School, four years of living together at WSU, and now living just 5-miles apart in Covington/Maple Valley. Filming movies, recording dunk highlights, camping, intramural sports, family trips, golfing, California hang-outs, playing music, and so much more, Tyler can't think of a time in his life where the Retz family wasn't deeply integrated. Husband to Natalie, and father of four to Nate, Charolette, Josephine, and Amelia, his approach to family is something Tyler admires greatly.

Maid of Honor
Ina is Jessica's favorite sister. Born in Germany, growing up in Chicago, and doing adulthood in Renton, WA, they have been through it all together. As Ina's Maid of Honor, life has come full circle with her now taking on the role for her sister, Jessica. There is never a shortage of fun, family, and support. Some of the best memories were playing school, running away to live at the park, roller blading at Lombard Roller Rink, Ice skating at 7-Bridges, road trips to Florida & the Michigan Dunes, cheerleading, summers at Sea Lion Aquatic Park & Cypress cove, and watching her be an amazing mother to her two sons, Marcus and Vince.
Jarrett Retz

Jarrett is Tyler's (unofficial) younger brother. For every endeavor Tyler and Jordan took on, Jarrett was right there in the fold. Statistically, Jarrett caddying for you will reduce your golf score by 12+ shots. Backyard baseball, sledding, PGA P.A.T achievers, helping Tyler move into his Vancouver apartment, Wedding Crashers, winter golf at Lake Wilderness, Master's obsessors, dance floor magicians... there is nothing but good times. Jarrett is the epitome of driven. He bets on himself and puts in the time and work to continuously elevate his life. None more evident than teaching himself how to code and pivot into a new career. Living in Spokane with his wife Meagan and Daughter June... (next child to come), he is Tyler's go-to for lawn care advice and perspective.
Jenna Blackmore
Bridesmaid
Jenna is Tyler's younger sister and Jessica's soon to be sister-in-law. Despite being in one another's life for only 6 years, she is the epitome of a quality friend. Jenna is a person that Jessica looks up to with how she gracefully balances working hard, raising her young family with Dalton, and always showing up for her loved-ones. Some of the best times are summers spent at the lake, cozy evenings in North Bend, sharing lots of meals, pickelball, walks and runs, hiking to Olallie Lake & Dirty Harry's Peak, dancing at weddings, and more. Her ability to recognize the little things, always brighten the room with her energy, joy for life, as well as her intentional care are some of the things Jessica admires most. She's also the best mom to Harrison and Graham.
Jeff Medrala

Jeff is Jessica's younger brother, and will be Tyler's brother-in-law. Despite a shorter tenure in Tyler's life relative to the other groomsman, Jeff has more than made up for lost time. Talking hoops, Top Golf, home projects, family dinner's, lots of cheesecake, and the best memes. The best memory was in 2020 when Jeff created the greatest covid home-gym ever. He let Tyler use it while other gyms were shut down. Tyler offered him money, but Jeff wouldn't accept. Jeff said, "just take care of my sister." That love for his family is Jeff's strongest trait. He ALWAYS shows up for his loved ones and expects nothing in return. His work ethic is beyond inspiring. His goals for himself WILL be achieved as he achieves whatever he puts his mind to. Yet all that pales in comparison to his love for his longtime girlfriend Erika, one of Jessica's bridesmaids.

Erika is the long-time girlfriend of Jessica's brother, Jeff. She is the younger sister Jessica always wanted. Her positivity is infectious as she spreads bright energy everywhere she goes. She is always smiling, laughing, and making any time together a wonderful memory. Some of the best times have been spent at family gatherings, volunteering at the Polish Festival, great dinners with Richard's Wine (her Dad), watching her also become a nurse, work-day lunches, playing with their cats Ferguson & Winston, girl dinners, and being goofy together. Their ability to find the beauty in the simplest of evenings is something Jessica cherishes greatly. Living just 7 miles away, Jessica can't wait to continuing to make more and more lasting memories.

Jesse is one of Tyler's best friends. As the cousin of Jordan and Jarrett, the 4 of them have been making memories for as long as they can remember. Rock climbing, eating lots of food, nights at Ozzies, tearing up a dance floor, going to Interbay, falling off a mountain trail, writing music, and countless laughs... only the best of memories. Jesse was the catalyst for Tyler learning guitar. There isn't a person on earth who believes in his friends more. Jesse is relentlessly pushing everyone to seize opportunities and live life to the fullest. He pours his energy into all the things he loves, and you see it no clearer than in how he approaches his life with his wife Madison and being a Father to his son Eli.
Piper Evarts

Piper is Jessica's "bus-friend-in-the-world". No, that's not a typo, this great friendship was formed while riding the 255-bus line to Seattle. Piper noticed Jessica's Blundstones and made small talk; the rest is history. Turns out sharing the same bus line was just the beginning to all the fun similarities. From running together, long walks, German-ties, and adopting golden-doodles at nearly the same time, that's just the tip of the iceberg for all the fun they have together. Piper is eccentric, spontaneous, full of life, and beyond lovable. That first conversation formed into a bond that led to Tyler asking Piper to help plan the engagement and be apart of the big surprise. Currently living in Wisconsin with her Husband Martin, Jessica counts down the days until their next hangout.

Cody has been one of Tyler's best friends since they met in the 7th grade at Mattson Jr. High. A one-two punch, no classroom was safe from their energy. Boxing on the trampoline, Jake & Amir, track meets, chemistry class, Mr. Kentwood, Quiznos subs, cycling, GOAT debates, King of Cheney, and hanging out at his beautiful home in Port Angeles... there is never a dull moment. No person takes up more phone storage than Cody. Tyler and Cody have been championing eachother's accomplishments for over two decades. Cody's self belief and work ethic is unmatched. His ability to take on any endeavor with confidence and conviction is demonstrated in all the projects and properties he has managed. He always leaves them better than he found as he takes on the next challenge. Him and his Fiancé Sarah are the epitome of being a great Team and it's an awesome example for Tyler & Jessica to mirror.
Emilia Medrala

Emilia is Jessica's cousin. She lives in Katowice, Poland with her brothers Toby & Max, and her parents Ola & Wojtek. Jessica's family is from Poland and those ties are so important to her. In 2023, Jessica stayed with Emilia and had the most wonderful time. Emilia made her feel right at home, often offering homemade lattes, hiking the highest peak in Poland's Table Mountains, eating pannacotta, and sharing each other's favorite beauty products. As a senior in high school, her kind and calm presence is mature beyond her years. Despite the low volume of time and being ocean's apart, there is such an ease and comfort when spending time together. Emilia's kindness, patience, and nurturing demeanor makes you feel at home and safe. She was the first person to spend the night in Jessica and Tyler's new home. She is more than welcome anytime she wants.
Tom Malone

Tom is Tyler's cousin. Tom was raised in Portland and their moms, Debbie and Lori, would ensure they would have at least one great annual trip. This tradition often began at Centralia's Arbys as the midway point for the drop-off. Some of the best times were power rangers, lacrosse, shooting hoops, watching movies, Need for Speed Underground, summers at the lake, college visits, and time in Denver where Tom now lives with his Wife Nikki and two kids, Delaney and Isaiah. Tom is the officiant because of the person he is. As a big-brother figure, Tom exemplifies what living intentionally looks like. From his commitment to his family, health, growth, profession as a teacher, and service, he is the standard by which we should all live our lives.
