Paul & Medha met at Siena College through a service club known as San Damiano Refugee Partnership (SDRP) aka Writing Partnership — an organization that focuses on improving access to higher education for refugee and underserved middle and high school students. For the better part of two years, everything ran smoothly, and they led the club as president and vice president without ever really talking to each other. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the two were determined to keep the organization alive. Amidst the chaos of online schooling, fear of illness, and newly present isolation, Paul and Medha wanted to ensure that the SDRP community could continue to confide in one another. They organized games, shared dinners, and educational sessions through zoom, and before they knew it they were zooming until 3 in the morning after everyone else logged off. Six years later, they’re getting married!!
