We're Getting Married!

We met on a closed Facebook group for single christians in our ministry called Singles Discipleship Connection. After stalking my Facebook page for about 5 hours Mechellé reached out to a brother. On Jan. 8th 2018 we engaged in our first conversation via Facebook messenger. Over the course of 8 months we continued to build on our friendship, which was amazing. The more we spoke, the more I started incorporating her name into my prayers and the more I realized that God was placing her into my life. Later that year in August, we both attended a singles conference in Phoenix, Arizona called Inspire. At Inspire, we had many firsts. The first time we looked in to each others eyes, the first date, and the first of many hugs. That weekend was amazing, worshiping together and the conversations we had were priceless. One week later while I was vacationing in California. On a beautiful Saturday morning we took a trip up the PCH past Malibu and had a quite time on a beach. There we prayed together, took pictures, and talked some more. After leaving the beach we went to Palos Verdes where I asked her to be my girlfriend. She said yes and the rest is history...

... It was supposed to be a girls trip with my sister and friends, (or so I thought) at a winery in Temecula called Callaways. Alden, with the help of my sister Candace, and friends Chanelle and Keyona had planned a surprise for me and had me thinking it was all just a much needed quick get-a-way for some girl time. As we were well into our 2nd glass of wine during the tour, the girls lured me to a window with a beautiful view of the winery and what I thought would be a perfect photo-op. As they encouraged me to look beyond the beauty of the winery and focus my view on the tall handsome man standing beside the helicopter with a bottle of champagne and two champagne flutes, I had to do a double take as I was now realizing, that was Alden, and they were all up to something. Still in disbelief and denial the tour guide offered to take me down to meet him as I was speechless and wondering what good reason he had to be joining us on our girls trip. I walked up to Alden as he stood waiting for me to approach him as he stood gazing at me, he began to profess his love to me. There, beside a helicopter and beautiful aisles of grapevines he got on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I was overjoyed and filled with excitement as my friends and loved ones begin to come from every which way with their phones out and open arms ready to congratulate us. It was just another beautiful sunny day.
