On Christmas Eve, 2021, we began talking to each other on a dating website called Hinge (Ben would like to thank his cousin, Jonathan, for telling him about the website). We could tell right away that this conversation was more authentic, kind, and in-depth than any others we had previously had. We hit it off and it wasn’t long before we were going on dates to art galleries, coffee shops, picnics-in-the-park….you know how it goes. And the rest is history!

On June 30, 2023, Ben told Bethany that he wanted to go out to an early birthday dinner for himself. Little did Bethany know, he was secretly planning to propose. When they arrived at the restaurant where they had (supposedly) been scheduled to dine, Ben drove right past it. Bethany asked him why he passed the restaurant (???) and Ben stated that they actually were doing something different. Bethany knew at that moment she was going to get engaged that night! They, instead, took a tour of Pittsburgh by carriage. The carriage driver was a friendly man named Jim and the carriage was pulled by a giant black Percheron horse named Chip. At the end of the tour, Ben asked Jim if he would take pictures of Bethany and him. Then, Ben got down on one knee and asked Bethany the question! Those pictures are the ones that you see on our Save-The-Date card :)
