The story began when I was going for a jog, (unbelievably), in the summer of 2014. I stopped into a restaurant called “The Bell”, where I would became a loyal patron within the coming weeks. Taylor worked at The Bell as a server, 19 to my 22. Taylor always stayed busy at work and was very intimidating to approach, at least in my opinion. One day, a friend and I were scanning the menu and asked another staff member what the best choice was. Taylor overheard our request, stopped dead in her tracks, and said, “Ask for the Big Mac, it’s not actually on the menu but they will know what it is”. Of course, I heeded her advice and ordered the gourmet Big Mac – thus beginning our first encounter. In the fall of 2014, I attended a university near St. Louis however, we still stayed in touch. I even recall trying to convince Taylor to attend school there as well - it was a good thing she declined because I was back in Kansas City permanently in January of 2015. Within a month, Taylor and I felt that enough time had gone on between us and mutually agreed to give a relationship a chance. Along came Johnboy in the spring of 2015 (you didn’t think I was going to leave Johnboy out, did you?). Afterwards, we acquired our home later that summer. The rest is growth and history, and for the last couple of years I have been asked many times when was I going to propose. I would tell her “the longer you wait, the more worthwhile the wait will have been”, and we are now in agreement this was the truth. Finally, we planned a trip to Ireland to celebrate the midway point between an associates and undergraduate degree. I knew that the timing couldn’t be more perfect, and I had finally had the oomph in my life to acquire the ring that would make Taylor proud. It’s an honor to invite you to help us celebrate the beginning of a new chapter in our lives. We are looking forward to the series of events that will surely create lasting memories for us and all of our guests.
