Getting There (Flights/Trains) The closest airport to fly into is Florence (FLR). There are no direct flights into Florence from the USA, but there are several easy connecting flights throughout Europe (like Dublin, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Munich, etc.). Another option is flying direct into Rome (FCO) and taking a train up to Florence. From Rome, the high-speed train to Florence takes about 1.5 hours. Italy’s train system is efficient, clean, and easy to navigate. High-speed trains connect Florence to Rome, Milan, Venice, and beyond. We recommend booking tickets in advance through Italo or Omio! There will be transportation / shuttles from Florence proper to the wedding venue on wedding day. They will pick up and drop off from a central location in Florence. The welcome drinks cocktail party on Sunday October 4th is at Angel Rooftop in downtown Florence. You must RSVP if you are going to attend (there will be a guest list).

Travel Note

Rental Cars

We generally do not recommend renting a car while staying in Florence. Parking is very limited, and much of the historic center is restricted to local traffic only. Florence is also extremely walkable, and taxis are easy to use when needed. If you’re planning to explore the Tuscan countryside before or after the wedding, renting a car for that portion of your trip can be a great option. Please note that Italy technically requires an International Driving Permit to rent a car. This must be obtained prior to traveling and can take some time to process, so we recommend planning ahead if you anticipate needing a car.
