Question

Where is the ceremony and reception?

Answer

The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be held at Walker Homestead. 3867 James Ave SW, Iowa City, IA 52246.

What is the dress code?

Answer

We'd love to see all of our favorite people dressed up for our special day. Formal attire is requested which includes dressy cocktail, floor length, midi, and tea length dresses for women. For men, suits are requested. Please no jeans or polo shirts. The bridal party dresses will be light blue.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30pm so we kindly ask that you plan to arrive by 4:15pm at the latest to find your seat. We can't wait to celebrate with you and want to get the party started asap!

Is parking available?

Answer

The venue has a large gravel lot for parking. Cars can be left overnight if needed. Ubers/Lyfts will travel to the venue, but may take time to arrive so please plan accordingly. We want everyone we love to celebrate safely!

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Due to limited space, and being lucky enough to love a whole lot of humans, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you rsvp.

What if I can't make it?

Answer

First and foremost, we will miss you! If you cannot make it, we would greatly appreciate you letting us know as soon as you are able to and rsvp "not attending" so we can plan accordingly. We will be sure to have a drink in your honor!

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

Our photographers are incredibly talented and we kindly ask that you remain present with us during our ceremony and keep phones put away and silenced. We already can't wait to share all of the photos from our big day with our favorite people! After the ceremony, please feel free to take all the photos and videos you'd like.

Are kids invited?

Answer

While we love your little ones, we are unable to welcome them on our wedding day. The ring bearer and flower girls will be the only children present. We kindly ask you to use the evening as a date night! If you are traveling to Iowa City and would like a recommendation for a babysitter, Meg knows a ton of very responsible and intelligent future Speech Language Pathologists she can recommend.

Will the wedding take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

We are hoping for a mixture of both indoor and outdoor settings throughout our day. We recommend a block heel for ladies who would like to wear a high heel to be able to walk comfortably in the grass.

Will there be transportation from the hotels?

Answer

Yes, we will have transportation available to and from the Hyatt Regency Coralville for guests staying in the hotel block. Guests staying at the other hotels will still have access to the shuttle for transportation, there will just be a short walk to/from the drop off/pick up point (3-5 minute walk) so if you have any physical limitations please be aware when making your hotel reservation. Further details regarding timing of the shuttles will be available as they are finalized.

When is the rsvp deadline?

Please kindly rsvp by March 20th! Early rsvps will be greatly appreciated! We will be unable to accommodate late rsvps.
