FAQs

The Wedding Website of Meagan Chapman and Tobin McCarty
Question

What should we pack to wear?

Answer

New Orleans weather is typically similar to San Antonio/Houston in terms of December weather, it may be shorts weather & it may be sweater/jacket weather so TBD until closer to time. For the wedding itself-the dress code is black-black tie/black suits & full length gowns or jumpsuits, preferably black as well, inspiration above!

Question

What days should we plan to stay for wedding?

Answer

We encourage our guests to plan on arriving in New Orleans sometime on Thursday. The ceremony will be Friday morning. We want everyone well rested for Friday morning’s events, so we will not be hosting a welcome party Thursday night. Celebrations will continue into Saturday morning following the wedding at the parade, and dinner Saturday evening for immediate family.

Question

What time should we arrive and what is the best way to get to the venue?

Answer

Please make Uber/Cab arrangements or plan to walk, there is no public parking available at the venue for non-guests. We will open seating to guests at 10:30am, please try to arrive by 10:45am. Ceremony & reception are at the same place.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outside?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be indoors, however there will be a short cocktail intermission in the piazza while reception is readied for guests. Following reception, we will be dancing & walking the streets via parade 4 blocks away and back to hotel.

Question

Are plus ones to be included?

Answer

While we would love to include everyone always, we ask that only those invited to ceremony and reception attend those events.

Question

What can we expect for a morning reception?

Answer

Brunch will be served family style including french toast, hashbrown casserole, biscuits & bacon. Mimosas, juice and coffee will be available for beverages. Please see the schedule page for more details on timing.

Question

I need more details on the after party. What can we expect?

Answer

At the conclusion of the second line, the bride and groom will depart for final photos. During this time, we encourage our guests to check on children or continue celebrating, and if you so choose, change shoes or anything else that would keep you from dancing all night. We will return to Frenchmen Street starting at The Spotted Cat. In true Frenchmen Street fashion, I expect we will spend a little time at dba, Blue Nile and/or the Maison...eventually making our way to Cafe Negril for late night tacos. There will be crooners and banjos, jazz and tacos, with a little reggae sprinkled in.
