Matron of Honor
My big sister Becca has been my greatest role model and my go to resource for advice. This lawyer mom of three lives in Washington D.C. and has been a savior during wedding planning! Look our for her little ones who are making special appearances on our big day :)
Bridesmaid
Angela has been one of my closest friends since they met in middle school choir. Angela lives in Washington D.C. and like me, travels and plans for work. She's a trusted source for honest advice and feedback, and has watched my relationship with Mike evolve from the very beginning.
Bridesmaid
Molly and Meagan (or should I say Biscuit?) have been friends since childhood spending summers in Christmas Cove, ME! A fellow Bostonian, Molly was critical in the proposal planning - we are thrilled to have her by our side for another one of our special days!!
Bridesmaid
Pam and I have been friends since early high school days and have shared so many memories, girls trips and milestones over the last 10+ years. She lives in Stamvegas and I have loved wedding planning simultaneously - thank you for all of the tips and tricks!!
Bridesmaid
Ali is one of my favorite travel partners, the most enthusiastic Yahtzee partner and the most creative and thoughtful gift giver. A San Franciscan who I hope (!!) is coming east soon, I'm honored she's flying into Maine from her own European honeymoon to celebrate with me and Mike!
Bridesmaid
Christina (aka Ting) and I worked together at Coldstone Creamery in high school but became true friends in college and have been besties ever since! She is the kindest, most positive human I know and I was honored to be one of her bridesmaids (my brother and I introduced her and her husband!). Can't wait to have her happy LA energy shine through all weekend!
Bridesmaid
Tricia has always been like a little sister to me as our parents grew up together (I even "babysat" for her in high school). We have become closer throughout the years. She's now in TriBeCa but we used to both live in Boston at the same time. A friend from Christmas Cove, Tricia will definitely be the DJ of the group and will keep us dancing all night long!
Bridesmaid
Megan and I have been a dynamic duo for a long time - and she's my favorite person to boat with. I always laugh when we'd introduce ourselves as the two Me(a)gans. This lady loves a festivity, celebration or a theme as much as I do! We've lived in CT, Boston, NY and Christmas Cove simutaneously and I can always count on MMW to be down for anything and make every situation so much more fun!
Best Man
Bodie and Mike can trace their friendship back to their days at Hofstra. Bodie was lucky enough to have Mike as a roommate (or is it the other way around?) and decided to stick it out all 3 years. Their first weekend at Hofstra they got lost party hopping in Hempstead and didn't make it back to campus until 3am! Bodie summed that weekend up as the start of a lifelong friendship, and could not be more correct, because after graduation Bodie and his brother Bryce drove with Mike drove across the country back to their home state of California! They've remained fast friends since then, and there is no way Mike would have made it through Hofstra without Bodie as a friend and roommate. Bodie will serve as best man alongside his brother, Bryce.
Best Man
Bryce became friends with Mike when he started at Hofstra in 2013. Being friends with the Pate brothers means everything is a package deal! A testament to Bryce's character is that he agreed to be a co-best man alongside his brother Bodie, since they both had to endure hearing Mike's sporadic rants during their time at Hofstra. Despite enduring these rants, Bryce happily went cross-country after Mike's graduation, on what Mike has called the greatest road trip of his life. Fun fact about Bryce - Mike acted as covert photographer to capture the moment Bryce proposed to his fiancé, Jane! Mike could not be more thrilled to have Bryce be a best man alongside his brother Bodie.
Groomsman
Ertis and Mike are Vdub bros for life. What is this arcane reference you may ask? Fuggheadabout it. If you insist on knowing, there was a period of time in which both Mike and Ertis owned Volkswagens simultaneously and used to give each other rides around the streets of PV blasting terrible beats and wearing backwards flat-rimmed hats of cities they'd never been to (and probably never will). How did this friendship begin you may ask? Well, it can be traced to AYSO travel soccer. Since then, Ertis has been a steadfast friend, hiking buddy and enabler of Mike's questionable choices (hiking Mt. Beacon in a 12" snowstorm for example). Ertis is one of the most laid-back and sanguine people Mike knows and is most certainly a Vdub bro for life.
Groomsman
Steven "Mazz" is a member of the "Cherry Lane Gang", a ragtag bunch of misfits that used to play pickup basketball, hockey, kickball and wiffleball up and down Cherry Lane. They even dabbled in skateboarding for a minute. Mazz and Mike have been friends since kindergarten, and became fast friends through their shared hobby for sports. Growing up they played baseball and basketball together, but Mazz never mustered up the courage to try out for soccer, something Mike never let Mazz forget whilst in high school. Another thing Mike never forgets is that Mazz has always been a great friend and never fails to reach-out, check-in or catch-up. Rumor has it that it's harder to get out of the Cherry Lane Gang than it is to get in, so it's safe to say that Mazz and Mike will be lifelong friends!
Groomsman
Andrew is most certainly an OG. Mike and Andrew became friends in middle school through a shared interest in video games and general "nerdery" in a wide range of topics. Andrew is the first friend Mike ever brought to visit his family's house in the Poconos where Andrew and Mike almost rescued (stole) a Jack Russell Terrier on the side of the road. Turns out the dog cried wolf. Another lifelong memory Mike has from his friendship with Andrew is the time they had a 3 day sleepover playing non-stop Halo 2 and Call of Duty as freshmen in high school, which led them both to became violently ill because of too many Monster Energy Drinks, which made them miss school! Andrew is a friend for life and Mike is grateful to have him be part of the wedding!
Groomsman
Have you ever watched the TV show "Jackass"? If so, you'd have a rough sense of what Alex and Mike's childhood was like in the Poconos. Alex and Mike have been friends since birth, since their fathers have been friends for over 50 years. Mike and Alex spent their childhoods ATV riding all over the place, blowing stuff up in the woods (and claiming it wasn't them when they got caught) and generally trying to avoid trouble. Mike cannot even fathom how many memories he has alongside Alex where they've both been in tears laughing from whatever stupid stunt the other person tried to pull off in an attempt to make the other guy laugh. Mike and Alex don't see each other as often now, but whenever they do, it's as if a day hasn't gone by. That's the mark of a friend and a brother for life.
Groomsman
Jon and Mike became friends shortly after Mike met Meagan. Her friend Laura noticed that Mike was a car enthusiast shortly after he began dating Meagan and said her boyfriend was similar - turns out she was 100% spot on, because the first time the four of them hung out, Mike and Jon talked cars for literally four hours straight. They became fast friends since then and even dabbled in a car related podcast! Their shared enthusiasm for European sports cars runs deep and underpins a life-long friendship. Jon may be in Utah for the time being, but each time they hang out its as if a day hasn't gone by. Mike & Meagan are excited to have Jon be part of their big day!
