Built in 1841, the Workhouse housed and supported the poorest during the Great Famine Take a guided or self-guided tour through the original famine-era buildings. •Markey’s Bar If you’re looking for a spot with tons of history and great vibes, you’ve got to check out Markey’s, it’s been around for 100 years! We actually had our engagement party there. Definitely one of the best places to hang out, drink, and soak up some real character. Stop in and say hi to Meagan’s cousin Annemarie behind the bar!

•The Shirley Arms - Bar and restaurant with fabulous food, great cocktails, and a very welcoming atmosphere. Eric’s dad Gene is a huge fan of their martinis! •The Courthouse Restaurant - Set in an historic old town house, this award winning restaurant serves some of the best food in the area. •Matilda’s - Family run artisan bakery & cafe known for their fresh baked sourdough bread. •Sean’s Deli - This is our first stop every time we visit Carrick! Please call in and say hi to Sean and try an iconic Irish Chicken Fillet Roll. •The Roma - The best chipper in town. Delicious fast food. •The Royal Jade - Irish Chinese food is its own creation and has very little in common with authentic Chinese food. Favorites are the Spice Bag with curry sauce. Trust us and try it!
