Like all the great love stories, ours began on Tinder. It was September 1st, 2020, and while the world was on pause, we decided to take a chance on a first date. We met at a dive bar called Dillinger’s. Eric showed up in flip flops and I arrived fashionably late in a red sundress ready to knock him dead. One of us clearly got the memo about “first impressions,” and it wasn’t Eric! We drank like the world might end: Corona for me, Heineken for him, and enough tequila shots to turn a wild night into the beginning of forever. The night was a whirlwind, electric, hilarious, and undeniably meant to be. Then, after a quick bathroom mirror pep talk, I marched back to the table, looked him straight in the eye, and said, “Well? Are you gonna kiss me or what?” Because someone had to make the first move, and shocker: it was me! He kissed me across the table and just like that, we began the rest of our lives. It started with that kiss across the table and ended with a ring. Not bad for a Tinder match. From that night on, we’ve been inseparable. Soulmates, best friends, and now, soon-to-be husband and wife. We feel so lucky to spend forever together. Moral of the story? Always swipe right. Always wear the red dress. And never underestimate the power of flip flops and liquid courage.
