We met in Richmond, VA in the spring of 2016. Davis was living in Richmond working for the headquarters office of his national fraternity, and Madeline was in town job-shadowing to become a consultant for her national sorority. Davis was invited to join Madeline and another sorority consultant for a happy hour - and he made quite the first impression decked out in an Alabama apparel! Over a year would pass before they connected again.
After Madeline’s year of traveling, she moved to Richmond and she and Davis reconnected. After five or six months of friendship, and texting/talking nearly every day (Madeline referred to Davis as “my friend Davis”) - the two decided to be more than friends when “her friend Davis” kissed her on New Year’s Eve! From there, the relationship took off. They discovered a mutual passion for traveling, good food, spending time with family and friends.
Davis moved to Austin, TX in mid-April to start a new job, but returned in May to propose! He planned an entire day - all without Madeline knowing! After church the weekend of Memorial Day, he asked her to “take a walk down memory lane” through the back lawn of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts… and proposed! Now they're looking forward to the next chapter in their lives- together!
