Question

What are my transportation options to and from Grand Lake Lodge?

Answer

It is highly recommended that you book a room at Grand Lake Lodge (which is the location of the ceremony and reception) as Uber, Lyft and taxis are not available in the area. If you decide to stay in downtown Grand Lake and drive to the venue, there are several motels and lodges in town!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! Babies and children are welcome. We are hoping this destination wedding can also be your family vacation to the Rockies.

Question

Is the wedding open bar?

Answer

Yes! It is important to stay hydrated, as the venue is at an elevation of over 8000 feet. Alcohol consumed at this elevation has a larger impact, so be sure to drink plenty of water as you enjoy the open bar!

Question

How close is the venue to the airport?

Answer

Grand Lake Lodge is 2.5 hours from DIA, requiring a rental car. The lodge is 2 hours from downtown Denver.

Question

Do you accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences?

Answer

Yes! Please just let us know.

Question

What kind of attire should I pack?

Answer

The weather in the Rockies is very erratic at all times of the year. We even sometimes get snow in June in Grand Lake, so please bring attire for all types of weather (heat, rain, snow). Also, the ceremony will be outside and requires walking on a gravel path. Please bring comfortable footwear!

Question

What is “mountain service?”

Answer

Many restaurants and businesses in Colorado mountain towns are understaffed. At times, this leads to slow service. Come mentally prepared with a little extra patience, sit back, and enjoy the views!

Question

How should I acclimate to the higher elevation?

Answer

Coming from sea level directly to Grand Lake can take a toll on the body. In the first 24 hours, medical professionals recommend limiting caffeine consumption, alcohol consumption and strenuous physical activity. Also be sure to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water!
