While out on a Saturday night in downtown Denver, Kim noticed Matt’s cute dimple and asked if she could buy him a drink. They talked for hours that night and in the days following, laughing together and learning about one another. Two weeks after they met, Matt knew he wanted Kim to meet his best friend, Grandad, so Matt invited Kim to meet him at Gram and Grandad’s house. When Kim put in the address in Google Maps and saw that it was on the same street as her grandparents, Ong Ba Noi, she thought he was playing a joke, but they soon realized their grandparents lived five houses from each other and have been Knox Court neighbors for over 35 years! Matt and Kim had an immediate connection the first night they met, and in discovering all of their commonalities, they felt that finding each other was fate.
While pondering all the potential proposal scenarios, including becoming engaged at their favorite backpacking site or during their upcoming trip to Iceland and Scotland, Matt realized that the one place unique to them was Knox Court. Knowing that family is so important to both of them, Matt decided to propose before they left for Iceland. He bought a ring on Tuesday, insured it on Wednesday, asked Kim’s parents for her hand on Thursday, and proposed to Kim on Friday in the middle of Knox Court.
