What is the dress code?

Answer

Our celebration will be in cocktail attire. Tea-length dresses in festive colors or slacks with a sports coat are welcome. Please avoid wearing lilac or lavender dresses. If you really want to get into the spirit, dress for Kermit and Miss Piggy’s garden wedding: funky textures and fun colors. Velvet would be at home at our wedding, but it might be a little warm for August. Ceremony and reception will be outdoors, dancing will be held indoors. It is the Bay Area so please consider a light layer for night time.

What is the weather like?

Answer

August in the Bay Area is peak summer. However, as soon as the sun sets the temperatures begin to cool off quickly. Generally, you should expect 70s-80s during the day and low 60s at night. We recommend layers because of this.

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 3:30 PM. We recommend arriving at 3:00PM to allow time for parking and seating before the celebration begins.

Can I bring a plus one?

We’d love to celebrate with all of our favorite people! Due to limited space, we’re only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding!

What time does the reception end?

Answer

Our reception will end at 10:00 PM. We hope you’ll dance, celebrate, and enjoy every moment with us until the very last song!

How do I get to the venue? What’s the parking situation?

Answer

There is some limited parking at the Piedmont Community Hall and some in the neighborhood. However, we do not recommend driving to the venue. Public transportation is available with the 88 bus from downtown Oakland stopping nearby. Uber and Lyft are readily available and are affordable.
