Typically it takes up to 18 weeks, however I understand with Covid19 they have been delayed about 12 weeks. Please make sure you are getting your passport, or renewing ASAP! Before October would be best just to be on the safe side!
Dublin Airport is 45 miles south, 55 minutes to Dundalk and Belfast Airport is 55 miles north, 1 hour to Dundalk.
You have options but the most cost efficient way is public transportation! It’s very common in Ireland and very user friendly! Here’s directions to catch the bus: Arrive in Dublin Airport. You can take the Eireann Bus (100X bus is the one you want). After collecting luggage you will exit out the doors, go down straight through the tunnel to outside. Go to Atriam Road - Zone 11 - You can tell the bus driver you are going to the fairways in Dundalk and they can tell you the best stop to get off at. (You will be coming up Old Dublin Rd. and the bus stops about a block from the hotel) Just ask if you have questions, people are really friendly! You can organize a pick up online through various websites! Dublin Airport Collections is one. Put in your amount of people, luggage, pick up time and you can reserve a head of time! (For 2 people and 4 bags it’s about €130) The other option is to grab a cab. They have a base fair and then charge by time! It’s more expensive.
From 6 March 2022, all COVID-19 travel restrictions are removed for ENTERING Ireland. You no longer need to complete a passenger locator form. You also no longer need proof of vaccination or recovery, or a COVID-19 test. In order to return to USA: All air passengers aged 2 or older, regardless of citizenship or vaccination status, must show a negative result of a COVID-19 test taken no more than 1 day before travel, or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 90 days, before boarding a flight to the United States. The test result can be from either an antigen, PCR or LAMP test. The test result must contain the individual’s full name plus one personal identifier, such as date of birth or passport number. It must also include the name of the lab or healthcare entity administering the test and the type of test taken. The test must be taken 1 day before the flight’s departure. The time of the flight or the time of day that the test sample was taken does not matter. For example, if your flight is at 1pm on a Friday, you could board with a negative test that was taken any time on the prior Thursday. Go to this website (below) to schedule your appointment at the airport. Randox provides RT-PCR COVID-19 testing and rapid/antigen testing at Dublin Airport. We have two Randox testing facilities on-site, one for T2 and one in T1. Randox is government-approved and provides Digital COVID Certificates. https://www.dublinairport.com/covid-19/pre-departure-covid-19-testing
Although we love your children, this is an ADULT ONLY event. We want to allow all guests, including parents, a night of relaxation, so we have chosen for our wedding to be an adult only occasion. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
So many of our girlfriends from the states have asked us this question, so here is the DL...Dress for our Irish wedding is Formal or Black Tie Optional or as Kristin says “Fancy Shmancy”!! Women generally wear colourful dresses and top the outfit off with what is often described as a "wedding hat" or a fascinator. So many ladies have asked us about this, google "Formal Dress" and you'll be good!
Well, OUR party will be Friday, May 27 until Monday, May 30, so we recommend at least coming from Thursday May 26 - Tuesday May 31. We recommend visiting the country!! Stay an extra week if you have the means to do so! You can see a lot of the country in 10-14 days!
This is a trip provided by the brides! They have taken care of the transportation and logistics of a pick up and drop off at the Fairways hotel. It is about a 30 minute ride! It's a chance to explore a cute village on the east coast of Ireland. Dress casual and weather appropriate!
If your invite says "and guest" then yes, otherwise we just want YOU!!
We do have 18 rooms at the castle plus ours! Each room hosts 2 guests, we will be reaching out individually to reserve these rooms with family!
No, they are located in the same place!
Yes, we have reserved the castle for a full 24 hours! Pick up your car by noon the next day!
Ireland - Euro, if you venture up to Northern Ireland it’s the Pound Sterling! You can typically use your CC most places! We recommend you have cash on hand - for things like taxi rides!
I would recommend packing your “event outfits” in your carry on! Formal outfit for wedding and Cocktail/Semi-Formal outfit for Welcome party! Everything else is casual! Pack layers!! It’s mild temperatures in Ireland! Nice temps in May/June will be between 60’s and 70’s. Also, pack comfy shoes to walk in, if you plan on visiting the country while you are across you will be walking! Also, a lightweight rain jacket/umbrella (if you pack it the weather will stay nice)!!
Totally up to you! (FYI they drive on the other side) You can get cabs from Dublin airport to Dundalk and would be ok without a car in Dundalk! Another option would be the bus, public transportation is great! We are providing transportation for the wedding! Cabs are available and easy to grab around town! Also, you can walk too! If you are staying longer you may want to rent a car (nose goes for whoever is driving)!!
You can start purchasing your plane tickets to Ireland 10 months out! We recommend to keeping an eye on it between 10-6 months out to get the best deal! (Aer Lingus is the Irish airlines, but there are a ton of airlines to choose from)
We usually spend cash at Pubs and on Cabs. Some pubs in Ireland are cash only, so you want to keep that in mind! Also there are NO Uber or Lyfts or any service like that, it is all CAB drivers. The hotel will be able to help with Cab Services. Credit Cards are excepted at most places outside of pubs and cabs! So to answer HOW MUCH, depends on how long you will be staying and what you will be doing...but I would definitely make sure to have some cash on hand!
Yes, for all USA guests! The outlets are all different over in Ireland! You will need to have an adapter to plug your phone charger, hair appliances, etc. (just google it!)
Totally up to you....it can get pricey depending on your carrier! A cheaper option would be to hook up to wifi at hotels, castles, coffee shops, pubs, etc and use your phone that way!
Uh duh! We will have select drinks at our drinks reception a.k.a. Cocktail Hour & Wine will be provided throughout dinner at no cost to you, any liquor drinks or beyond are on you & there will be a full bar available all night! (Cash and Credit are accepted).
