Soda City Market
A Wes Mitchell favorite! Soda City is an outdoor market offering local vendors ranging from flowers, jewelry, coffee, food, Cola memorabilia, dog treats, and so much more! Soda City is open on Saturdays from 9am-1pm. Grab a cup of coffee from Soule coffee truck or breakfast tacos from Los Chicanos food truck. :)
Riverbanks Zoo & Garden
A great Columbia attraction that is home to over 2,000 different animals. The zoo is divided into multiple sections including the Petting Zoo, Reptile House, and Bird Complex. Don't forget to check out the beautiful Riverbank Botanical Garden that showcases 4,200 different kinds of plants.
Columbia Canal and Riverfront Park
A beautiful place to take a relaxing walk or enjoy a picnic! Wes and I enjoy picking up The Gourmet Shop (more details further down) and having a picnic here!
Tazza Kitchen Trenholm Plaza
We went here on our first date. Needless to say, we had a blast! *reservations required*
Bourbon
We went on our second date here! They offer an extensive whiskey bar and Cajun-Creole food, and are steps away from the SC State Capitol building.
Tombo Grille
11/10 recommend their burgers! You can never go wrong with their specials either, best of luck narrowing down your top choice off the menu!
Pasta Fresca
Pasta is one of McKenzie's favorite foods and this place is legit! The Pasta Fresca ravioli, chicken and spinach lasagna, seafood Santa Fe, and chicken marsala are fan favorites. Don't forget to order the loaded bread, you won't regret it!
5th Avenue Deli
The best lunch spot in Columbia and the place Wes and I ran into each other before we ever even knew each other! Not only is the food amazing, the staff is great, and the sandwiches are named after local streets and famous SC people. A true Columbia gem! A few of our favorite sandwiches are the Kilbourne, Harden, 803, Congaree, and Robert Beary. A must try!
The Gourmet Shop
Yum yum, yum! They offer some of the BEST chicken salad and tomato bisque soup. A must try for brunch or lunch!
The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli
The best bang for your buck in Columbia! Another Wes Mitchell favorite, especially on Sunday's after church, but I'm sure it tastes just as good other days of the week. Open for brunch/lunch and currently is only offering order ahead to go.
Downtown Church
If anyone will be in town on Sunday, visit our Church! Worship starts at 10am and you will see a familiar face. Dawn, our officiant, is the pastor at Downtown Church. :)
