On a cool January evening in 2022, Kenzie was swiping away on her favorite dating app, Bumble. Right when she was about to give up on dating apps completely, the most handsome man she had ever seen, Tony, popped up on her screen. The double take that immediately commenced gave her a crick in her neck for almost a week. She immediately knew she had to swipe right, and when she was alerted that it was a match, her heart skipped a beat...maybe two. Kenzie then sent Tony a witty message about his job, and the rest is history. They quickly exchanged numbers and set up their first date, however Kenzie had cold feet and almost cancelled. But in the end her friends convinced her to go, and the two immediately hit it off. One drink turned into 3 hours of talking, and the waitress coming back 15 times to ask if they wanted food, even though they told her when they sat down they just wanted drinks. One date quickly turned into two, which turned into three and more. Once Tony cooked for Kenzie, she was done for. Since then, the couple's love has grown and prospered, and they have yet to leave the so-called "honeymoon phase." They moved in together in May 2023, and bought their first house in August of the same year. By the time October rolled around, Tony could not wait any longer to propose, so he started hatching a plan. They had a trip planned to Florida where the whole Clifton family was going to be, and Tony figured it would be the most meaningful place to complete his quest. While in Fort Worth for Thanksgiving with Kenzie's family, he found a moment alone with Kenzie's dad, Jim, and received his blessing to marry Kenzie. About a week later he told his parents about the plan, and purchased the ring the following January, about one month before the big day. February 20th, 2024 they arrived in Florida, and Tony knew the next day was going to be the first day of the rest of their lives. The following morning, they woke up and went to Tony's grandpa's condo. They took a quick tour and then headed out to the balcony that overlooks the beach. Little did Kenzie know, Tony's parents had gone early to write her future initials in the sand: MJC. As they approached the railing, Tony held tight to the ring box in his pocket and turned Kenzie's attention to the initials. She had no idea what it meant, until she saw what was in Tony's hand. He got down on his knee...and so did she, as he professed his undying love for Kenzie and asked her to marry him, to which she said an emphatic yes. Now that Tony and Kenzie are engaged, they are so excited to celebrate and share the day of their marriage with all who are able to attend.
